    I agree with the fewer maxed out cards. I'd like to see caps placed on the different cards so the 99s are only for players who earned them with sustained greatest. Short-term success should not put a card on the same level of the all-time greats. I think cards based on single-game accomplishments (short of historical achievements like a perfect game, 4-homers in a game, etc.) should max out at 95, and cards for medium-term successes (weekly and monthly) should max out at 97. The 99s should be dedicated historic seasons and the greatest players.

    I think Hall of Famers should automatically get higher attributes

    This is a terrible idea. This was the 2018 game with the immortals.
    The problem is every team is then exactly the same, there is no variety amongst any of the player base. The meta will always exist but if there are 100-150 “meta” cards it provides variety. If there are 15 meta cards then everyone has the exact same team.

    @Jeff7407_PSN
    Simple: just release the best cards late in the end-game cycle around November and December

    The release of the cards and the ramp up, in my opinion, is always going to be an issue and I doubt that there is an easy fix.

    In my opinion some of the Legends and HOFers should always be near the top, but using the ramp up method that would mean waiting to get 99s of those legend until like November, after Finest are released. Or else we come up with these situations.

    At first glance I accept the power and contact ratings until you look a little closer at the numbers. Musial's card lists his MVP year of 1948

    • Musial batted .376 and deserves those 125s but should Caminero be as close as he is hitting .264?
    • In what world does Caminero get the higher attributes in Vision and Discipline considering walk and strikeout numbers?
    • Stan batted .426 with RISP. Caminero batted .270. Do they deserve the same clutch?

    I just don't think there is an easy fix based on the players expectations that cards get better the later into the year we get. The early 99s are always going to be weaker even though, in this case, Stan was released just a few weeks before the Finest cards.

    ⬆ ⬆ ⬆ ⬆

    I think I just wanted an excuse to have AI code an app that allows me to directly compare players stats across decades.

    I want a mode that forces us to use live series players only. The only purpose is for collections and getting special players/cards. But once we get collections, live series are irrelevant.

    @Rubbaneck34_XBL I agree to an extent with you. Most are irrelevant once collections are done or the game advances a bit past the launch cycle. I don’t play much online though so I actually made it a point last year to P5 as many LS cards I wanted to. I think I did around 30 or more. I have fun playing as those cards and hoping they diamond in a roster update. This year, however, I’ve already decided to use the best cards and not worry as much about trying to use LS, just as a switch up from last year. You have a great point.

    I personally don't like using generic placeholders, which is what I feel live series are. Im all for them getting buffs in specific events though

    That said, the Topps designs the last few years have been quite lackluster and I've felt uninspired by the look of live series. This year's design is pretty good

    The design of a card is irrelevant to the gameplay.
