Things I'd like to see 2026

I'd love to see some updated Graphics/Game Engine. Graphics are terribly outdated, and it seems that SDS ignores what needs to be fixed and tweaks things (Pinpoint Pitching) that don't need to be tweaked and makes them worse. The foul balls are ridiculous. The hitting really doesn't make any sense. What I mean by that is, not Perfect/Perfect outs, those happen. It's getting different results with the same input. (RNG, I believe the kids are calling it). I do not think games are predetermined but as long as this is in the game people are going to believe it's all rigged.
Make Events and B/R relevant again. Give them their own cards. I played 1 round of BR this year.... the free one. Events turn into quick Multiplayer Program Grinding.
Also go back to the old POTM/Lightning Card Programs, stop hiding behind packs.
I'd also like to see a little more options of how to play Multiplayer. I have cross play off, but there are some really bad internet connections out there.
Cards/Programs, now I'm going to say this and will probably be way off, but even without Sets/Seasons it still seems like there are more cards this year than before (Dolenz will have to fact check me on that), I also know with me saying it's too much there are plenty of players out there who will say the opposite it's not enough. I think my biggest problem this year where all the best cards where hidden behind packs. Specifically, Chase Packs. Now, I'm not saying get rid of Chase Packs but there should be maybe 8 Chase Cards a year? This year 26, players can't keep up on this unless they spend real money, or are the 1%. When new packs for mini collections were released the best cards where in packs you had to buy, and then those cards were usually trumped by whatever the chase card was (see the Correa and Chipper week). I know this got better once Madden and NCAA came out... lets just not do it again.
With that being said, I loved the WC, I enjoyed Diamond Quest, so the new things this year have been really good.
Just bored at work waiting to go home

You don't need Dolenz, I can tell you for a fact that you are way off, my goodness lol. Other than that, I agree with everything, especially the POTM and Topps Now statements. -
@TheBigPapa55_PSN Well with 3 kids in sports and grinding when they go to bed it seems like alot. Forgive me...:( lol
-
As someone who is offline preferred (in fact, most of the time I find online flat out unfun unless its an equal matchup):
-
Biggest issue this year for me was TA was a big miss. I am more forgiving of SDS for this because they tried something new, but frankly i thought it sucked.
-
Too much grind stubs to buy cards. I don't like online (mostly), and int he past it wasn't a huge problem buying those cards with stubs. But now I had the hundreds of pack cards as well as DQ cards competing for my stubs. And the two modes i actually enjoy didnt have sellable
-
And with so many modes, many of which different players find unfun, I think its really time for The Show to consider making mode exclusivity a limited time thing. Cards should be limited to certain places when they are fresh, but rotate to alternative (non stubs) ways of
-
Make innings drops exciting. With sets ans seasons there was content overload with these drops, with innings it was just a regular friday, but with WC for those that enjoy it
-
Programs should be 10 cards or more, in most cases (player specific is fine). No excuse for rivalry weekend with...2 cards
-

9 inning offline mode that acts like a franchise where I can play on legend or hall of fame and get adequate rewards and packs for doing so.
Online is too much cheesy garbage humans plus bad connections where I gotta be in the right mood to put myself thru that.
Moments are kind've busy work as is show down. 3 inning modes to much random rng happens.
Id like a franchise where I can consistently upgrade my dd team and use in franchise mode against cpu on high challenge difficulties
-
Soo they said they were adding DD game modes and I would absolutely love if they could cook up some sort of Story mode that you can play through with your DD team. I dont know exactly but it would be a fun game mode where you wouldn't have to play against real people.

What you describe sounds much more like a mode that encourages people to play on higher difficulties, as opposed to DQ which can punish people for doing it.
-
My number one is: make all modes play the same for similar levels. So, DQ, Showdown, Vs CPU, Moments (etc) all play the same on Veteran ( for example). No slider nonsense whatsoever. If they want a mode to be tougher, put higher rated cards in for the opponent.
So tired of Showdown ( in particular) with a bunch of Live Series players acting like Hall of Famers/Gold Glovers!!

)Here are the exact numbers.

We are actually really close to 2024's numbers and may even surpass it. We would need just 22 more cards released to tie last years total number of cards. Although we probably won't equal the number of 99s from last year, although we will inch closer with Retro Finest coming up.
-
Obviously we are not close to the 2023's numbers
-
Lot's more cards than 2021 or 2022 but fewer golds than those years

-
Strangely the of number Diamonds dropped between 2023 and 2024 by roughly 460 cards but there were actually 41 more 99s in 2024
-
The number of Silvers is scarily consistent in all 4 years.
