Suggestion: Allow Token Purchases for RTTS Player Growth Like MLB The Show 17
-
In MLB The Show 17, players could use Stubs to purchase points for RTTS player growth. That system made progression feel much smoother and gave flexibility to those who mainly enjoy RTTS without spending endless hours grinding.
As someone who only plays RTTS, Stubs are pretty much useless for me right now. If MLB The Show 25 allowed us to buy Tokens for player development using Stubs—just like how it worked with points in The Show 17—it would make the mode far more enjoyable and rewarding.
Please consider adding an option to purchase Tokens for RTTS progression. It would help many players who love this mode focus on playing rather than grinding.
Thank you for your hard work and for continuing to improve the game!

I disagree. You don't buy talent in real life. You have to work for it. The player development in MLB 25's RTTS is actually among the few things that SDS got right. The only tweak should be to the amount of points awarded for good plays on the field.
The concept that you decide the development of the avatar player by your skill as a player is entirely, 100% correct.

I understand both points of view. The progression is kind of the point of the mode but at the same time it is a solo mode where one players gameplay does not affect anybody else's game. If they want to shortcut the process and make themselves a baseball god sooner rather than later by paying money to SDS then what difference does it make.

I don’t think my faster progression in RTTS would negatively affect other players. RTTS is a completely single-player experience, and it doesn’t impact anyone else’s gameplay. I just want to enjoy the mode more, and being able to purchase Tokens for slightly faster growth would make the game more fun for me.

I'll grant you that RTTS is entirely your expression. But, you are advocating for a change in how RTTS works, a regression in the eyes of most customers, and one that we advocated against years ago. You have the right to express your opinion, but you also cannot ignore the reality that if you got your way on this then the change in RTTS would degrade the desired experience for vastly more customers who firmly believe that your avatar player's attribute levels should be strictly a reflection of the quality of on-the-field play that your skill as a person can determine.

How? If they don't want that experience then they just don't buy tokens.
It used to actually be that way back in the day and back then I was a RTTS player exclusively. I used to get my player to god status simply by playing. It never bothered me that someone else could buy their way to that point if they wanted to spend enough money. It did not affect my game at all.
Now, these days, we have to speculate on whether Sony and SDS would slow the progression to entice players to the spend money or not. But, assuming, things stayed as they are and they simply added the ability to buy token then I don't see how it would affect anybody else's gameplay.
