My Must-Haves To Purchase MLB The Show 26

I’ll start by saying this free agent system is much better than what they had previously, but it still can be improved. It wasn’t realistic to see all the offers and associated player interest level for each free agent in prior versions of the Show. I think bringing back options and back/front loading would be good. I think having a target board of free agents each team is interested in is realistic, although an improvement might be having 3 primary target free agents and 3 secondary target free agents. I think interest level growing each week is a bit contrived, but there is some logic in that if I’m focused only on top end free agents OFs like Tucker and Schwarber, I might miss the chance to sign Grisham. I like that it is realistically harder to sign a top end free agent if my team (Angels) has no hope of winning.
I don’t play Madden, but the Show’s version seems more realistic than all 32 teams offering each free agent a contract on day 1 of free agency. I’m not going to offer a contract to Grisham and have him take a 40 man spot until I’ve heard back from Tucker or Schwarber.

Why wasn't that realistic. MLB general managers are on the phone with agents constantly during the offseason to know where they stand. The new 3 player limit is unrealistic. It reminds me of the morale system which was unrealistic and poorly implemented.

True, GMs are in communication with agents, but an agent’s job is to get their player the most money. If an agent divulges to a GM the best offer they have so far, the GM would only have to slightly exceed it. But what really happens is the agent bluffs what offers they have to see if a GM will match it or better yet exceed it in AAV or years (or both). That’s why I like having other team’s offers hidden. Like real life, I have to guess how much to offer to get the signing over the finish line.
Maybe a better solution than limiting to 3 FAs is I can allocate my time and effort to be spent each week on any FA. I can devote 100% of my time to Tucker…OR…devote 50% of my time to Tucker, 20% to Bregman and split the remaining 30% evenly across 10 other free agents (including minor league FAs).

They have create a player, can I have create a manager/coach? That way manager stats “matter” or do something. And if they still don’t it’d still be cool to be able to make legend coach’s. Also let me hire the sock puppet as a free agent head coach and he heckles the umpires and gets tossed sometimes.

For me its just one thing. Please Stop the bots from controlling the market. It is not difficult to block these things, please spend some money to do so....

@ebbets1957_PSN
Its not bots that are the problem, its the people that outbid you by thousands of stubs and drive up the prices -
@Talkingben9558_XBL Respectfully disagree, Autobots that continually and immediately always bid a stub higher is a problem.

Pardon my ignorance but what are stubs?

The currency in MLB the showI'm franchise exclusive for many years. What do you buy with stubs?

Cards mainly, but uniforms, stadiums, icons, and sponsorships too. Again, mainly cards.

Not my thing but thanks for the reply.

we need connected franchise

I just have one request for me to buy another MLB The Show Game.
Customizable Franchise mode.
I might be in the minority but I want to be able to create my own league with my own teams and be able to customize # of teams, reorder/rename divisions and customize the playoff format.
I still play MLB The Show 23 and don't see a reason to get another game unless this happens.

WBC mode in Franchise or we’ll boycott

Too much work to be done on the base franchise for them to add world baseball classic. I don't boycott but I skip every other year because of no y2y.

@sullivanspring_MLBTS
It's a once in four years thing. They have all the rights for the players in the WBC, so there's really no excuse other than laziness. At the very least, give us the Tokyo Dome. -

Skip is something one does because the game doesn't advance enough each year to justify yearly purchase. Boycott is what is done when customers determine the company isn't giving the game the proper attention.
Each is a choice. But, many of us have now reached the point of concluding that the second option is well called for!

I understand completely. I could go on a long rant about the changes they have made that were poorly implemented but that would do no good. Progression doesn't match scouted projection for draft picks is an example of them implementing something new that is broken from day one. It's frustrating to see that kind of stuff happen when other obvious things like Y2Y never make it in the game but it is what it is.
The blurb about gameplay being overhauled has my attention but there is no way to find whether it's an improvement without buying the game. Without Y2Y that's the only thing that will get me to throw away my franchise and start over.

@Jagg1976_MLBTS I agree. That's one of the things I refer to above. I saw that EA's NHL has this option to I believe a total of 48 teams.
Can you imagine the ability to have 48 teams in leagues and divisions we create ourselves? And to combine that with custom stadiums and the custom rosters that we all prefer to use? My gosh, that alone would keep many of us Franchise guys coming back!
