Showdown - The Worst Mode In The Game

Diamond Quest serves the purpose of a rogue-like game mode well
Not remotely.
There is no element of progression beyond the peanuts which dont add any variety
If you got to carry over some buffs, and then get new ones that would go a long wayAnd again there is the issue that the servers arent particularly trustworthy.
It needs iteration, to allow for a sense of progression and to give the player the choice to not have it be all showdowns and moments

Strike outs in mini seasons is all jacked up. The leader has 50 SO in just 5 total games played. That's not just improbable, it's impossible unless they had extra innings every game and pitched every game all game
-
@royalslover1967_PSN The stats have been messed up forever now

@Teak2112_MLBTS I agree that the perks should carry over. It would make it feel a lot better if you could atleast get a permanent boost to your team even if you lose a stadium game.
I would also argue that Showdown should have some sort of permanent boost if you fail a boss showdown. It would make it feel like you had made progress even if you lose everything else.

The only cards I do not have in the game are hidden behind Showdown. Cannot stand to play this mode.

@SayHeyKid_SF_PSN I feel your pain

@SayHeyKid_SF_PSN I’ll never finish the Spring Collection because….Showdown….
-
I also believe this. I can't believe they locked cards behind that and didn't make them purchasable.

Showdown to me is a waste of time. DQ should be that if you finish the entire map and play the stadium challenges, you get the epic rewards, then that mode would be tolerable. Mini Seasons was great in my opinion. Especially the all-star and run it back miniseasons(without the run it back, I would have never finished the extreme program). The Finest was just irritating. Get Tatis and never touch that mode again. I think miniseasons needs to be expanded as well as a WBC mode added. Would love to see franchise games use PXP. If I have a created player, they don't count towards PXP and bring back sounds of the show. Don't make lame excuses about USB drive support; list which drives are supported. If someone decides to add music/sounds or whatever, it's on them to be compliant.

I feel like the only offline mode that I enjoyed consistently this year was conquest.
-
The only fun Showdowns have been for like Moonshot/Home Run Derby cards. I did the Jackie Robinson one twice & it wasn't terrible, because the live series cards were better than the pitchers, but some just give you seriously awful cards to use and it's just pointless to try.
I wanted to like DQ, but it's not good & the penalties are worse than the boosts you get & if you get a bad penalty, you're in a feedback loop of failure and you just have to start over. Plus it just takes so much time if you want to have a shot at the good reward without playing at a high difficulty.
Oddly I've started enjoying mini-seasons more than Conquest, because the games just flow together pretty quick. Conquest is good if you want to use the same pitchers in back to back games. -
It feels like the general consensus is that people don't enjoy the game modes where they demand a large time investment but potentially offer no reward.
I personally have no issue with conquest or mini seasons, they are perfectly fine. I enjoy the short format and the constant rewards make feel worth the time.
Diamond quest has potential if they dive more into the rouge like aspect of permanent boosts allowing you to feel like you have made progress even if you loose.
Showdown needs a major revamp. Spending stubs to enter to potentially leave with nothing after a sizeable time investment just isn't fun. There needs to be a tweak to the reward system to make it feel like I haven't just waisted an hour doing nothing but batting.
