Separate defensive sliders for HUM/CPU
-
I guess this will be a yearly post now asking for this. Once again the CPU defenses react WAY FASTER AND QUICKER than the human controlled players. The cpu gets a perfect jump every time and tracks down balls that my human controlled players wouldn’t even come close. It’s really becoming a game killer or at least an immersion killer.
And for the love of everything that is holy; PLEASE STOP HAVING PLAYERS JAB STEP THE OPPOSITE WAY WHEN A BALL IS HIT IN THE OUTFIELD. No one, and I mean NOBODY jab steps the wrong way, especially at the major league level!! Just a poor choice of a game design. Like why??
SDS- I’m BEGGING you- please just add separate defensive speed and reaction sliders! THANK YOU!!!
EDIT: separate sliders for arm strength too!!

The CPU defense and pitching are both overpowered. The defense is not only faster but the ball is drawn to their gloves almost like a magnet. You can actually see the CPU going into a dive before the batter even makes contact at times.
The pitchers are ridiculously wild except for being able to super dot. My favorite is when the pitches actually overlap in the exact same spot. Good luck trying to replicate that with PAR margins in play.
The CPU pitching and defense both need to be scaled back a ton. It’s not that it’s difficult, just extremely tedious and unrealistic.

@TripleH-4481_PSN Totally agree, man. It’s such a shame because the overall game is fun to play. I’m wondering if I should go back to default sliders. Maybe that’ll help a little.

There’s also a suggestion I want to make. Give us TOTAL CONTROL of defenders. Too many times my defender will get caught in an animation that slows them down. There’s no sense of urgency when there should be. Maybe employ a turbo button that makes players go full speed when you need them to. If you lay off the turbo, then they can play that relaxed style when the sense of urgency isn’t needed.
I’m playing the game right now, and Marcel Ozuna hits one down the right field line and went for 2nd, but Kyle Tucker took his sweet time getting it in. It’s beyond frustrating

We have defensive attributes for a reason, a bad defender should not get a perfect animation every time -

We have defensive attributes for a reason, a bad defender should not get a perfect animation every timeCorrect, but the CPU plays it perfectly 95% of the time. The only way they don’t is if it’s a totally horrible defender out there. I’ve played over 150 games this year and seen the cpu take a bad read maybe once. And I play on All Star. I refuse to play on legend because I’d probably be on my 10th controller

Some of the CPU pitchers have better reflexes than NHL goalies.
The NHL goalies work a lifetime to always be in perfect position to block a 100 MPH slap shot coming from a 90 feet distance. Most of the time, the puck hit them, no the contrary. There are about 60 human beings that can do that regularly in the whole world.
MLB The Show pitchers can catch, sometime behind their back, a ball coming at 100 + MPH from a 50 feet distance. All of this while being in improper position (after their release) and after the ball made a bounce on an irregular surface like grass or sand. While their super talent is THROWING the ball, not catching it!
As for defense as a whole, as a grinder, I played a lot against the Rockies, at Veteran difficulty. Let's just say that the MLB The Show Rockies are much much better defensively than the actual Rockies.
It is just very frustrating.

Agreed!! Well said!!

We definitely need to do something about the insane amount of behind the back plays pitchers make. Pitchers don’t do it very often in real life -
I thought about something else: the catchers.
I think it had been adressed in the past week, but there was a time my catcher would drop (or not catch) the ball three of four time each game. Every time, the CPU will get a free base.
Now, it is about one time every two games.
But I NEVER saw a CPU catcher drop a ball. I NEVER got a free base on a wild pitch. Wich is, again, frustrating.

Sliders can't fix these issues; only addressing the game's engine will fix it. Sliders will only be band-aid fixes. The game needs new coding without building on top of the old, and in terms of new technology, ancient coding that's been recycled and reused for decades.
