Ranked is a MAJOR fail

200 hits mission. Absolute garbage. This is the type of [censored] that makes me want to just put together a team of all bunt guys.
-
Larry Walker never played for the Nationals. Why does his card say Nationals? Do they not have the rights to the Expos name?
-
-
Apparently the naming on the awards cards has always been like that and I never noticed. Carter had one a couple years ago with the same thing, and Eck's card this year just says Athletics. Still a fail.
-
200 hits seems like an acknowledgment of people boosting and an encouragement for those that don’t boost to do so. It’s not really an achievable mission without either a) living in H2H formats or b) boosting.
-
Walker played famously for the Montreal Expos which are defunct, and became the Washington Nationals in a move.
Same franchise.

Still it is 100% factual Larry Walker never played for the Washington Nationals. Conversely, Bryce Harper never played for the Montreal Expos.
It just looks incredibly stupid to have the team on the card not match the uniform. I get this has to be done with Cleveland, but I struggle to understand why this is done for the Expos
Expos were somehow so much cooler than the Nationals.
-
@Teak2112_MLBTS I say this as an actual, local Expos fan, and it doesn’t bother me in the context of the game (TA and themed teams). If they had to differentiate all the Boston, Milwaukee, Braves teams plus the 3 Washington teams it would become quite convoluted.
-
Walker played for the franchise that is currently known as the Nationals.
If they gave him an actual retro card instead of an SDS generated card...
FYI, they did the same thing to Tim Raines's Egg Hunt card.
-
Exactly.
Not sure what the argument is here. I guess the answer is yes, they don’t have right to Montreal anymore?

Yeah, for theme teams it makes sense that Nationals and Expos are combined. They struggle to give enough cards as it is for most theme teams.
That Alou/Grissom/Walker outfield was awesome when I was a kid so its just jarring to me seeing Nationals under his name
SDS should atone for this and get the rights to Grissom next year

He played for the franchise that is currently called the Nationals.
No different than Walter Johnson playing for the franchise that is currently known as the Twins.
-
@Teak2112_MLBTS what is funny is I switched allegiance to the Brewers when the Expos left, and they’re basically functioning the same, plucking nobodies everywhere and making them underrated contributors. Reminds me of Lansing, Grudz, Vidro, Santangelo, Blum; all guys on nobody’s radar.
At least they’re not digitally putting them in Nats uniforms.

Should’ve made [censored] Allen a Cardinal 99.
I, like Dolenz, had no idea he ever played for us.
But how would I?
But some Phillies guy said it’d be a travesty if there was ever a non-Phillies Carlton card.
McCarver got to catch Carlton and Gibson. He brags about it in every single broadcast he’s ever done so it wouldn’t be weird to have a 92 overall ish Cardinal card.
6.9 WAR in 69 with a 2.whatever.
69 in 69 dude
-
Ted Williams technically played for the team that turned into the San Diego Padres, so we should get a Padres card for him. Just sayin…

Three time all star (with a 19 loss season in between) for StL, absolutely worthy of a card, 97+ even
Reggie Sanders is another new legend that could have been given a low diamond for the Cardinals (and about a dozen other teams). Weird career, 300 HR, 300 SBs, maximum games played of 140.

I loved sanders he won a World Series with us. But I’d definitely make him a Red.

He had seasons above 3 WAR for:
Cincy
SD
Ari
SF
Pit
And a 2 WAR season for STLSo far he only has the Reds 85 I think? I agree his 99 should be Cincy but he should have had a bare minimum of two lower diamonds for other teams.
