Yay grinders! We can grind to get one whole card (probably the worst one) and then the other SEVEN are all trapped behind a paywall!

I shouldn't be surprised based on the way they've done things in '25 but it still disgusts me.

PS I can't believe they didn't censor nut sack. At least that makes me happy!

    A. You get a pack in the program, yes? At most, you're down to 6.
    B. You are allowed to flip and earn stubs that way, no?
    C. Are there no more conquests or programs for the rest of the game cycle where you can earn more HRD packs?

You still have no idea what a paywall is.
The only thing "paywalled" in MLB The Show is online play since it requires a PS+ subscription.

    @SaveFarris_PSN
Grinding should be defined as actually playing the game to earn a card
Flipping on the market is not part of “grinding”
Therefore he is correct, grinding gets “kicked in the nuts again”

You skipped the part about future Conquests and Programs?

Thank you! And this year flipping is harder than ever.

Maybe you'll get a few free packs (and all I ever get is base round) but I guarantee Cal Raleigh will not be free, hence he is locked behind a paywall.

And I didn't really mean for this discussion to be all about Cal Raleigh.

It was more about grinding getting us 1 of 8 cards (and the worst one).

You just answered your own statement. You do earn a card by grinding. In fact you earn 2, with a chance 1 of them could be a 98. So you just proved grinders are not being hated. Plus you can repeat a conquest and get a free pack and DQ and get 2 free cards. Sell those 3 and guess what you could by 4 of the other cards you need. Oh my god!!!! SDS basically handing you everything you need to do it no money spent, but because they didn't just give it to you for showing up it's not okay.

I think SDS has way too many collections this year, but being angry about the HRD one is misplaced. You only need 7 cards, you get Rooker and a pack for free from the program. You will get at least one more pack if you made predictions (even if you get them wrong, if you got 3 right you get a rare round pack). On top of that, you can literally just grind the Draft conquest a few times and then buy the HRD cards with your gains. On top of all of that, if past years are any example, SDS will give the draft/HRD/ASG packs out like candy at Halloween for the rest of the year.

I’m not a fan of the amount of gatekeepers on collections this year by no means but this complaint seems a bit premature. Free pack in the program right away , additionally they’re likely to add some. Were less than 24hours from the collection being presented. Exercise some patience

I guarantee I get Cal Raleigh for free. It may not be till November, but I won't spend a single stub acquiring his card.

Let's see what's in ASG conquest

Don't forget that draft conquest is minimum 15k for 5 games. Not that I enjoy grinding for stubs instead of cards, but co quest is infinitely more fun than DQ

@SaveFarris_PSN Haven't you ever heard time is money?

Everything is a collection this year with the same MO. Give us access to an extremely small portion of the cards through programs, mini seasons, etc. Rest are buried behind stubs or .000001% (my odds anyway) chance to pull. Not a real good model imo.

Cards cost time, effort, skill, or money.

    You choose.

Like what are you even talking about? The cards in the All Star collection are incredible...and the only way you can get them is to have all 30 vouchers. That collection is a big win for grinders. They gave us a repeatable conquest that allows you to unlock a juiced SS....or just sell the cards and buy the ones you are complaining you can't afford. Some cards are difficult to obtain...the majority are not. Every player who plays this game shouldn't have every card...a few cards (and it is just a few) need to be special. At any rate, the ASG collection is the best of the year so far...it rewards the grind. Yet...here you are complaining...think about that for a minute.

@SaveFarris_PSN I would add knowledge to that list. Knowing when to buy and when to sell might be the most important element of building your collection.
