Some positive DQ feedback
-
So … after completing roundabout 20 runs (yes, small sample size) … here are some goods & bads (in random order):
- DQ is imo a challenge to single player users who need a challenge. It is the wrong place for the common single player experience to beat up the CPU on lighter difficulties to complete some tasks. This mode is imo supposed to be played 1-2 difficulties higher than you are used to
- Having said that, I beat 1/3 of the stadiums bunting my way to wins and pitching the hell out of my pinpoint :). Unfortunately that has been nerfed.
- So, 2/3 of the stadiums I beat the first stadium on some 80+ percentages … on legend. The second stadium I tend to HOF.
- My win reward percentage an the rare cards resembles the percentages I entered the stadium challenge. So: roundabout 80% of the time (or 4/5) I will get them. That percentage gets worse when I switch to some 70+ for HOF
- My only bad take is a general bad take that the cpu has only wizards in the field. That should not happen.
- Goals to success: Build up a good squad that has answers for everything. I have Elly on the bench to steal some bases. I have Seager on the bench for that late pop vs. righties. And I use the speedy/utility players (Jackie, Brian Roberts, Honus) to take extra bases.
- Pitching-wise: Control is important. You will not get away with bad location … no matter how hard you pitch.
- My wish-list: 1. more DQs with more rewards … 2. A little higher percentages
Final summary: This mode is a big W … if you do not expect this mode to play like any other single player modes (see first paragraph). I really like it
