Has anyone tried people at 1b that can't play there? I don't expect to get a scoop but if I put someone like caminero there will he just straight up drop throws or will it be fine

I think out-of-position is just a 15-20% decrease in fielding attributes. I'm not sure what his attributes are to start but I wouldn't think it'd be much worse than just putting a 1B with bad fielding there.

I've had an OOP 1B in vs CPU games. They do ok. They won't pick the short hopped throws. I had only one dropped chest-high throw. Playing vs CPU it is ok, but I personally wouldn't try it in multiplayer.

In cpu games, until you approach like better than All-Star mode, you can pretty much field anyone at first. Once in a blue moon you’ll notice.

I couldn’t tell you when it comes to online because I don’t play online if I don’t have to. But from what I’ve heard, fielding means a heck of a lot more online than it does in CPU games.

Fielding this year deffinetly does matter. Well not always, but deffinetly alot if you put a player out of position at first base they drop the ball. Even with perfect green thrown it is a complete coin flip if you throw from any infield position to 1st if they'll catch the ball.

I rolled with J Ram at 1B for a few games. He was doing great, to the point where I thought I was on to something. Then he just straight dropped a “green” throw from 3B so that was the end of that experiment.

Unlike any other position OOP 1B drop random throws, I would not advise to do it. You will regret it 🙂
