@dbub_PSN, yes... "regular people" who can't stop crying because it's hard to have all the cards in the game. For free. By June.
I don't think you have a very good grasp on reality.
I have every card I could want right now. But get ready for a concept I'm sure you'll have difficulty understanding...I ACTUALLY CARE ABOUT OTHER PEOPLE!
Like I've said before I don't like large corporations taking advantage of their customers in such blatant ways.
I don't think you have a very good grasp on reality.
Battling cancer for the past 3 years with 60+ rounds of chemo, having to tell my daughter I'm dying, I'd say I have a pretty good grasp on reality.

I appreciate this thread because it’s revealed even more people to block (which I highly recommend doing by the way…it’s amazing how a select few can make this thing a total buzzkill)
The entitlement here is absurd. This game is the exact opposite of “pay to play” and there’s no legit claim otherwise.
I’ve played just over 200 hours, so I’m a bit of a junkie considering I’ve been on a several vacations away from the game. Having fun and playing smartly, I’ve got Rolen (who I suck with!!) and I’m Ohtani and Marte away from LS. NMS all the way, by choice. I could spend whatever and be fine, but A) I like to earn it and B) you can have fun and be competitive in Ranked without having the “best” players. Rolen is my worst hitter for example and I crush with Albies and Raines.
I’ve tried to play 2K and Madden versions of this stuff and in those games, it’s literally impossible to compete without spending money.
If you’re spending money, it’s your choice. SDS threads the needle perfectly in my opinion; if you’re rich or bad with money and don’t want to put the time in, they have a pay version for you. If you play enough to be able to be competitive at all and spend your time wisely, you’re going to have a great team NMS. -
@IrishFist412_MLBTS what a wild claim. They’ve created the greatest sports game of all time where you can compete easily without spending a dime lol

@dbub_PSN, if you did, you wouldn't be throwing that in people's faces looking for mic drop moments... especially those with their own cancer story. Had the same conversation with my then seven year old daughter... luckily, she just had to get used to her dad being a 145 pound grey thing on the couch for months before I started to recover.
I'm now 5 years out, 50 pounds heavier, and alive. Going through that really helped me put trivial things like the importance of video games into the proper perspective.
I wish you well, but none of that has anything to do with you making too big a deal out of a [censored] game.

No it had to do specifically with YOUR comment on my grasp of reality.
And now you questioned my honesty when it comes to my cancer? Cool. I don't believe you either. And you're a terrible person I'm now blocking.
-
@tear4eddy_PSN What claim? And why is it wild?
-
@dbub_PSN, who questioned your honesty about that? I questioned your grasp on reality and your choice to use your story to gain advantage in silly forums like this, and your self absorption in trying to use your story to shame someone... I bet you didn't consider you were dropping that on someone who's lived it themselves.
I'll tell you another thing I've learned from my journey: only a [censored] person uses it to make others feel bad.
-
@IrishFist412_MLBTS you suggested that SDS could or should be brought in from if the United States Senate because some people choose to spend money on their game. That counts as “wild” in my world.

Yeah. Really wild:

@tear4eddy_PSN All I said was it is certainly possible that they could be forced before them. The issue isn’t charging/paying money for stubs. It’s the gambling habits kids can develop at a young age from these packs that are essentially casino games.

@dbub_PSN DBUB JUST COMMITTED MURDER! Dude just got OWNED!!
Yup. I love to give them actual facts that might get in the way of their opinions or their "gut".
-
I finished live series, I think it’s way too high (even though I do think it should be hard to finish), however if you grind color storm and the do the 500xp with the players you get so many free packs, so yes is it more micro-transaction based than used to be, but they did just make it easier to get packs.
-
@IrishFist412_MLBTS, no one got "owned" because someone linked to a stupid bill that Josh Hawley put his name on.
Do you know that the bill received no votes in committee and died before it got to the floor because it was meritless and a waste of time to begin with?
Oh, and packs aren't essentially casino games... they're essentially packs of baseball cards. Maybe Josh Hawley can bring another bill that would stop Topps from corrupting our youth and turning them into gamblers.
-
@The_Joneser_PSN Nah man…I respect you standing up for your friend but he got OWNED!!!!!!!!

"Clearly".
Funny, I thought the move away from sets and seasons (and the "expiring" cards that went with it) wasn't exactly micro-transaction friendly.
I will repeat sets allowed me to use any cards to complete a collection now I need to spend money to complete certain collections no thanks

The micro-transaction-heavy move bothers me about as much as the major software companies (Adobe, Microsoft, Intuit, etc.) that stopped selling their software and transitioned to annual or monthly subscriptions. I used to be able to buy a software program, keep it for two or three years, and then upgrade for less than the original purchase (or price of an original copy of the software). Now, I have to spend $$$ every month or year to keep using software that I find helpful (like Dreamweaver).
I'm almost inclined to believe that game companies saw how much more software companies were making doing this and changed their games to match, but even more aggressively.
Until someone passes a law to make what these companies are doing illegal, they are not required to answer for their actions. It's business to them. It may be unethical to us, because we don't want to spend all the extra money for a game we already purchased...but that's the way it is now.
I've stopped using certain software packages because I refuse to pay subscription prices for them. Someday, this will happen with this game, too. Until then, I'll keep trying to see how far I can get with NMS, and don't worry if I can't get every card.

Don't worry, they will never do subscription based because the current model is far more profitable. An inning pass will probably be added at some point, which if done well could be a good addition but they are rarely done well.
Shareholders see the industry where things like Madden and Genshin Impact print money by providing extremely low value for the dollar. Most of us, if Ohtani is converted from a stub amount to dollar amount, would think anyone that pays for that is crazy. But there are absolutely people that do this and thats where Sony makes the money, not the people that spend 0-100 each year.
