lost players in the offseason despite having them under contract for another year

Just finished a tigers MTO season and in the offseason I lost skubal despite having him for another year with arbitration and never had a chance to re sign him. Is anyone else having similar issues?

I noticed that lower rated bench players will sometimes not be renewed via arb automatically. TOR Ernie Clement wasn't on my depth chart anymore after seasons end...I was like WTF...went into FA to look for him and there he was..even though he 2 more years of ARB left. You have to go in and manually offer a contract. it should be a no-brainer that one of the best pitchers in the game with ARB control would be retained...but that's SDS logic for you...
