Online newbie impossible

I saw they had the Yelich card added for online play. Also I am doing the May program and wanted to burn some pitchers for the stat missions.
I never really play online but do try it from time to time to build XP and stats.
What is it with online this year? I did events and I get matched up against like the best players. I have zero chance of winning. I don't quit because I want to build the pitcher IP and Ks.
Has it always been like this for events? Like they dont have logic to match me up vs a beginner online player like myself? Guys I played have that world series icon. overmatched

Just wait until you have a WS player ask you to boost. Then when you don't answer them; they get pi$$Ed and send you a bunch if spam messages.

@LuvMyXBOX_XBL No it is not like that very often, because the good players have nothing to play for in events (other to farm stats … drop 3 could make them do it) … I usually run into a lot of people, that are not goons. Other than that: You will learn from that and get better

The stage 3 program just dropped so people go to events to farm stats, give it a few days and regular people will be there. I think I played a lot of p5 collection teams earlier, then it got better later in the day

Keep in mind, a WS icon is effectively meaningless now. Thousands of people have them from abusing the co-op glitch. I played my first 6 event games vs WS icons. I only played 2 actual WS players.
But other than that, event matchmaking has been terrible since the forfeit option was introduced. As others have said, it should get easier once there isn’t a rush of people trying to finish the program.

This is the answer right here. It's because the 3rd drop just came out yesterday so everyone is playing online right now.

I beat a guy last night 28-0. I am not joking. I have no idea what was going on. Can someone explain this?
The guy stopped playing after the first inning. All the pitches were down the middle and when hit to the OF, the fielders would stop and I let my player just do inside the park HR's.
I thought maybe the guy fell asleep. But no. In the top of the 3rd, he started playing after I scored my 28th run. Started pitching and threw me out of the bases. Then when I was pitching, he kept striking out on purpose to end the game.
What was the point of this? I think he maybe did fall sleep then wake up. I thought the game wasn't going to count so just kept scoring out of boredom. And if it did count great, I can get some XP for some of the players.
Is this behavior common and what was the point of it to let me score all those runs?
Another scenario could be he read my post and felt sorry for me and let me win.

It is not that common in my experience… It happened to me only in BR three times the last few years (good for me, did lots of missions on him)

I do like this online program. I didnt know they bunch all the online into one program. I thought it was seperate from ranked vs events vs BR. I got that Kopech card right away and really enjoyed using it.
As long as I don't have to win every game, I can still succeed by getting missions done I may stick with online a little bit more.
