Diamond Quest

@Rabid55Wolverine All I want to know is what makes people enjoy it. I'm not even debating. I hate conquest bc it's the samethjng every year. Long & boring. Saying you get silver progress & packs doesn't justify no updates to the mode.
-
My only problem with DQ and the reason I would still favor conquest is that for a good percentage of DQ you're not getting any PXP and paralleling players is what I care about.
It's better than Showdown though so at least that's something.

Why should people have to justify what they enjoy to you just because you don't enjoy it? You're not going to suddenly have an epiphany and change your mind about the mode.

@JDHalfrack You spend over an hour playing rapid fire random junk and then gamble on a single game as to whether you get anything or just wasted all of your time.
The “gamble” is to win a 3-inning rookie game against the CPU. That’s hardly a gamble…
I’ve maybe lost… 3… rookie games total the last 7 years…
If you play on rookie, your chance of getting the reward is almost zero. I'm assuming you must be confusing his point about DQ with Conquest. There's no gamble in Conquest, just hidden rewards and xp.

@Dolenz Then why are you commenting here??

I Like conquest and want it to remain but i'm bored of the mode. like today I saw the shamrock map which is great they keep adding more maps. but beating conquest is really really easy. that's why its sort of boring to play. I get it that there are rewards to get, but I wish they made it more challenging. I guess I can always play on a higher difficulty but maybe they should add some strategy in the maps and games other than sim and play.
i dont understand diamond quest yet but it looks fun. I got some cards off it already but really didnt know what I was doing. I just was trying to get to the stadium which I think is the goal.

Well, for starters, the OP was talking about all the earned rewards, not just the main reward. Even if you don’t get the main reward, you get something like 10 bronze packs and 5 regular packs throughout the DQ. You just need to win the final rookie game to keep them. And it’s repeatable. So, it basically satisfies the original complaints everyone has.
Second of all… what are you talking about? I’ve gotten all the rewards, and I only play rookie. The base rewards start at like 1 or 2% for rookie, but if you play all the challenges and minibosses, it can climb as high as like 75+%. The lowest I had was 58%, and I still managed to get the epic reward.
I’m not saying I love the mode, but there really is no “gamble” to get the packs you find during the DQ. Just win a rookie game.

This just isnt true for most people
If you pass a moment, you get a bronze pack. WOW
If you pass a mini boss, you get a pack or a silver player.
When you beat a stadium quest you get a pack. Most people will not pass all the events, I personally fail about half the time.
Ive gotten the two pipeline 85s and Travis Banana, but Ive also had good luck on my rolls.
The mode has potential, but as it stands I can feel its really for the people who are above average at the game. Yes, you can get everything on rookie, but you will need to play the slot machine to do it.
I dont personally hate the mode, but Its more tedious than it needs to be
-
I've gotten the two 85s and Bazzana also, though Shultz eludes me. The mode is good if I feel like earning a standard pack, but it could be better.
-
@Weshill627 You don't play conquest. It is the most played offline mode though. But it won't be for long because there is no replay value to any conquest anymore. I find diamond quest extremely boring and the rewards are not worth the time put in. At least not at this point.
-
This is my new favorite mode, right now. packs galore, easy stubbs good variety of easy moments to tough games. great value for my time. bronze packs give you silvers and golds
often. takes like an hour, few quick moments, easy bosses -

First of all, relax.
I admittedly don't know the ins and outs of DQ, but I recalled seeing something about the final game being played at either GOAT or Legend, with only the GOAT guaranteeing the reward. Maybe I'm wrong.
It's a mode about improving your odds to get a reward, so technically, yes, it is the dictionary definition of a "gamble." Conquest, love it or loathe it, tells you what you get up front and is used to grind stat missions.
-
@Loyal-Wiglaf there’s a game you can play at Legend (not GOAT) and it is avoidable and not tied to any rewards. You have to beat two teams à la Conquest for 2 shots at the 2 reward tiers. You can win one, both or none depending on the difficulty and % associated (although none is rarer than both, especially on Rookie). If you beat most mini-games and play the 3 inning games on Allstar, you’re guaranteed the lower tier rewards, and almost guaranteed the higher one by winning both games.

Thanks for the clarification! Are these cards sellable? If so, it will probably be easy to obtain them relatively cheaply later on in the cycle.

@Weshill627 DQ is an awful Mode. Conquest is actually fun and I get the rewards when I do the thing I'm supposed to. It isn't some boring RNG snooze fest.
-
@Loyal-Wiglaf I don’t think so; at least the tutorial ones are not. Haven’t completed the other 2 yet as it’s fun but I’m trying to round up a decent base team through the other programs first and it’s not efficient for now.
They did mention in the introductory stream that people can try it and go back once they have a better team for a better chance at a reward, especially fielding silver and golds against Fernando. I did beat him but it was close.
All the Moments and Showdowns are on Veteran, and the Stadium Challenges (3 inn games) let you pick the difficulty for the % boost you get.
-
@BLAISEBLAISE I wish I could agree. But its very much not good value for my time. And that's the root of my issue. I was playing RTTS instead of it because the RNG of the mode just isn't worth it. Even if you try to go straight to the stadiums it takes like 30 minutes to finish for nothing. Or you can fill out the whole board take over and hour and still coin flip to get nothing. Very not worth.
-
@LCS-Jumbo looks like none of the maps or DQs are tied to the XP path for now.
They said DQs didn’t expire, not sure about Conquest, but if future XP paths are only gameplay XP related and not objective based like it currently is, I would guess nothing expires, except the path itself.
