XP CAP
-
Changes are coming, we'll find out during Thursdays stream. According to Ashley, "a lot of changes that people are gonna be excited for".
If its not gone entirely, heres hoping its increased substantially.

Seems like a good time to remind people to keep your expectations in check.
It will be interesting to hear what the plan is. -

It will be interesting to hear what the plan is.I always keep my expectations low. But they were talking an awful lot about knocking out a few TA programs "over the weekend". To get to the captain its 55,000 xp and quite a few games to accumulate those stats. It wouldnt be possible to knock out a few without a cap increase.

No Don't confuse TA points with XP. You need 55K TA points.
You get 5,000 and the first card simply by completing a single Moment.
Then you have 8 Quick Impact Missions for 5K each. Things like 10 doubles, 15 HRs, etc
Easy PXP Missions with the players for 10K eachOh, and as a Bonus they upped the Plate Appearance PXP from 10 points per at bat to 15. So those will go faster

Im not confusing anything. I understand how program xp works. But if you saw the stat missions, its gonna require quite a few games and a lot of game xp. (10 doubles, 50 hits, 15 HRs, 25 runs, 3 SB, 12 IP, 50Ks, 3 Wins). Those quick missions get you 40K, the moment gets you 45 and the PXP missions will require another game. So at a minimum, you're looking at at least 4 games to get the 55K TA points.
You'll hit the xp cap midway through the second team.

I'm hoping it's back to the 23 levels...last year was just too painstakingly long

I think its definitely increased this year. They were just talking about it again in the stream so we'll find out Thursday.

@Easy_Duhz_It__PSN you’re a million% confusing game co and program xp. They are not the same thing, and one doesn’t independently impact the other.
That being said, if you’re continuously hitting the xp cap, you should probably reevaluate some things. I absolutely play the game too much, but I’ve only hit the xp cap a handful of times and it was usually a sign I should maybe consider doing something else for a bit. I also can’t understand why you’d want to speed run the game

I am a million % NOT confusing the 2. But you clearly are a million% misinterpreting my post.

You said it wouldnt be possible, so either you were being a dishonest [censored] or you confused the 2.

They said on the stream that you can get through a the TA programs "relatively quickly". Now see if you can keep up with this part...
You do realize that you get more GAMEPLAY XP the better you do, right? You get more GAMEPLAY XP for a 20-0 win with 7 HRs and 19 Ks than you would for a 1-0 win with a solo HR and 7 Ks. We're on the same page there, right?
In order to do ONE team, its going to require at least 4 games. How much GAMEPLAY XP will you get when you're hitting 20 HRs, getting 50 Ks, 10 doubles, 25 runs, 3 wins, etc. Now considering those stats...exactly how many games do you think you can realistically play over a weekend before hitting the CURRENT xp cap? Is it feasible? (that means capable of being done) Seriously...is it possible for one person to get through a few teams over the weekend with a 15,000xp per day cap while simultaneously putting up the stats required for the TA missions?
Also, dipshit...if you read my entire post or, more accurately, had some someone read it to you...you would have seen the end portion which said that it wouldnt be possible WITHOUT AN XP CAP INCREASE. No...I didnt say it would be impossible to get through a few teams. I said it wouldnt be possible to make a dent in TA WITHOUT AN XP CAP INCREASE.

XP cap only impacts season/inning track and absolutely nothing else. not pxp, not program progress, and of course not TA progress.

I understand exactly what he's saying, with what the XP cap is now it would be hard to complete more than 1 team

You're halfway to understanding the issue. Congrats. Only took a few hours this time. Of course, it's not my issue personally because the one time ive hit the xp cap was coming out of a double xp weekend but there are people who won't play if they're not making progress in the innings program/reward path.
For THOSE people, getting through a good chunk of TA over a weekend isn't possible (WITHOUT AN XP CAP INCREASE). Understand now?

I know this may come as a shock to you, but your opinion on other players is quite irrelevant. If SAN DIEGO STUDIOS wants people to play their game and grind TA all weekend, THEY have to face the reality that SOME PEOPLE will not play their game if they aren't earning XP. In order to address that, THEY should be considering a cap increase.
And again, i shouldn't have to do this but i will to avoid you reading [censored] into my post that's not really there, I am in no way advocating for or against an xp cap increase. This is a topic that's been brought up here and in stream chats for years and its something that SDS should be addressing.

How are you not advocating for a cap increase when you created a thread about it, then filled it with disinformation about TA being somehow related.
You are a disingenuous piece of [censored] and I dont care if SDS bans me for saying so, people like you impede honest discussion aimed towards making the game better.

XP - What you accrue during gameplay that helps you advance along the XP Path and thru the TA Path.
PXP- What you accrue during gameplay that allows you to parallel a card.
What @Easy_Duhz_It__PSN is stating is that if you play one game vs the cpu, at say Costco Park, and you accrue all the stats (HRs, doubles, PAs, etc( during that game not only will you get PXP towards your player and TA points towards that team's TA; you'll also accrue XP for getting those states. All those stats obtained, say in one game, could accrue you 15K in XP.
If the XP Cap is at 30K; then it will take you two games to hit the CAP.
You can still get TA progress and PXP towards any cards being used. But you WILL NOT get any more XP, unless it's tied to completing a Program, towards the XP Path until the CAP resets the next day.
So technically, once you play two games (at say Costco) you could hit the cap within 2 hours of gameplay.
Thus why they need to increase it or get rid of it.
If anything in TA or the XP Path isn't sellable; there's no reason for an XP Cap. Especially with the Power Creep back.

Its insane that is discussion reached this level, but this is the statement that is getting people hung up.
You could earn zero season/inning XP and still complete every TA program. So saying that it wouldn't be possible can be inferred that they are somehow related, even if that wasn't how you intended it.
As many of said, they're largely unrelated, besides your point of emphasizing only playing when earning XP.
