How can I add players to wild cards and what does it mean? :)

You first have to earn the wildcard spots. You can earn 3 in the S3 Collections.
Once you have earned them then you can use any Season 1 or Season 2 player in a squad that is specifically tagged for season 3 content. Without the wildcards you would only be allowed to add S3 labeled cards.
It gets a little more nuanced than that as some content requires a squad marked with a S3 tag while others do not have that limitation. For example, for the TA conquest map you can build a squad not tagged for any specific season and use any players you want for that map.

When you are in an S3 lineup and select a position and have the cards to choose from you hit r2 to bring up wildcards
