Out of position players coming?

If this is the case- what on earth is the point? Why would this make any difference?
For instance- let’s say they have Nolan Ryan as a Catcher. Either A- he can’t hit because he couldn’t hit in real life like most pitchers. Or B- they give him made up attributes in which case, it’s not really Nolan Ryan. Might as well make him Blue with three heads.
I have a really bad feeling about this.
And will we be able to use this and his normal
Card on a team? If not more useless -
I really hope this isn't the case. Who would want this?

It'll be option B.
No way he would be a 95 as a position player without some hitting stats.

And no way anyone would use him as a position player with bad hitting attributes. I get it. Ultimate team modes have run their course from a creativity standpoint. There are only so many things they can do with the same players every year. I just feel like if it doesn’t lend itself to the strategy of the game, what is the point? But I guess this is why we’ve started getting things like Kaiju and Incognito cards over the last couple years.
I really wish they would just add things that add to the strategy. Captain cards were a good idea, do more with that.

Nolan Ryan with 125 power on both side.... but he can't pitch to save his life. Welcome to the twilight zone

This is really stupid if they do this. I dont want a 95 Mariano Rivera in my rotation....i want a 99 in my bullpen.

Agreed, this is something i would do if I get bored of using players and don't have anything to work towards. Having this as a TA is mind-boggling.
-
Going to be a HUGE L if this is why they aren't showing the bottoms of the card.
Although; I do know that Kenley Jansen was a catcher when he was drafted.

There are plenty of things they could still do for card series
Rookie series
Big september series - would require research
He played for them? Think mets Willie mays, nolan ryan, ricky henderson Padres Piazza Red/White Sox Tom Seaver, etcreally there are endless possibilities without resorting to out of position nonsense.
And this is coming from someone who liked incognito (which was at least based off a real mlb event) -
What interesting is if you read the Wikipedia pages for some of the players in the 'Match the Player to Their Position' chart; they were drafted at a different position than what they currently play.
Jansen: Catcher
Blackman: Starting Pitcher
Rivera: Starting Pitcher
Elly: Third base. -
@Ericulous1_PSN they already do this letting every pitcher throw 104

On October 3, 1993 Randy Johnson entered the final game of the season as a defensive substitution, replacing Brian Turang in left field.
The more i see stuff like this, the more im convinced this TA is gonna be a [censored] show.
-
O'Neil Cruz in Center.....wait.
Can't wait for sidearm lefty Elly SP 🤪 -
Next thing is they'll make a card of The Kool-Aid Man. Because he's a pitcher.
I'll see myself out.
-
This would’ve made more sense as the 89s to start season 2

About time to politely leave the show 24 behind if this is true.

I just pre-ordered the standard edition of Star Wars Outlaws so if I hate the Out Of Position stuff at least I will have a new game to play this weekend.

Let me know if it's any good.

I can't even put into words how much I hate this idea. What ever realism this game had left is gone as soon as these cards come out.
