For those that beat Percival, how did you do it? I need some tips because i can't even make contact his pitches are so fast.

Put Milestone Gwynn, AF Raines, and AS Elly as your first three batters and drag bunt with all 3.
Then have HOF Griffey, HOF Chipper, and AF Stanton as your 4, 5, and 6th hitter.
You should be able to score enough runs to either tie it and send it to extras or to take the lead and close it out.
-
@samguenther1987_PSN I just loaded up on the 99s that I hit best with. Once I had the tying run on with a slow runner, I pinch ran AF Raines to make sure I would get the run in on a single after I stole 2nd. Play to tie the game and win in extras.
-
Used lefties and switch hitters I mash with (i.e. Duran, Soto, Posada, Chipper Jones), hit tanks.

Because I hadn't faced him before(maybe in MS season 1,but that was awhile ago) I had the same experience.i used the attempts as practice, to get used to not only the velo but how and where the pitches move, after about 5-10 attempts my first 3 batters do ok to fairly well against him,I've gotten him to 2 runs a bunch of times but the 4 and 5 hitters are now going through it,but soon will have them too and complete then( took a break and working TA so still on this one)

Pretty much what other guys said. Put speed in the top 3 good vision and power after. If you don't put the first 2 batters on, restart. That's how I did it.

Lol...so if anyone read earlier McCovey took me FOREVER. Easily over an hour and a half to hit 2 HR on Veteran with a 99 power hitter. Hundreds of pitches.
I'm now doing a conquest game on veteran with players lower than McCovey. I've hit 4 hr with the first six batters on a total 11 pitches.
SDS do not tell us Veteran in moments is the same Veteran in all modes.
-
@Ledfoot_19_PSN Same for me on the McCovey. I don't think any moment took me for than 4 or 5 tries, but this one took me at least 2 hrs. The frustrating part was I hit a homer in his first AB probably at least 20-25 times and could not hit the second one. I think there was twice that I just pulled what would have been the second homer foul and another time I thought I had gotten a hold of one, only to have it hit off the top of the wall in right field. Eventually I got it but it was the perfect storm of a swing I don't like, paired with a release and arm slot that I have always had trouble picking up with King, in a ballpark that isn't great for homerun power.
-
@YOSHI24_MLBTS No dude. Go back and look carefully at the post I was replying to. I wasn't just talking about the Moments. I was asking about time spent for him/her doing Moments, Conquest, and Ranked games. Definitely NOT 2 hrs.
-
I will say the Yordan card so far is worth it. Threw him into my line up for ALW affinity. 4 conquest games 11 AB 4 HRs 4 Doubles. Guy hits bombs or smoked gap shots. I've always hit well with his live card so I must like his swing.

I went back and I do not know what you guys are talking about tbh … This Thread is about the “Moments of Glory program”. That is the context people should write. Both he and you reference to something else, where you do conquest e.g.. That is basically not a part of this program …
I thought you were talking about the time it took to finish the program this thread is talking about (to my excuse ) -
Yeeees finaly, i have a lead against Percival, De La Cruz bunt single, Gwyn bunt single, Rollins bunt single, Ruth a double, and Griffey a 2 run home run to center field

Yes, my closer didn't make it easy on me but i got it done.

@YOSHI24_MLBTS Come on man. Two things: 1- Just because a topic is labeled as one thing doesn't mean other subjects or details can't be discussed within. That's just absurd and bizarre to think otherwise. Your way of thinking on that is strangely black and white almost to a fault. And 2- It was not hard, at all, to discern what OP was saying in his post. It just required easy, careful reading and not blowing through thinking he was strictly talking about Moments.
Not hard.

I can't hit Percival, the ball leaves his hand and i swing immediately and every single time it's very late swing result.
I can't swing any sooner...
This one was tough. Put guys with 99 speed and good stealing at the top of the order. Try bunt cheesing or keep plugging away but if you don't put the first two batters on, restart. That's what I did. Eventually I put the first 2 on and had the 99 Devers at cleanup and hit a 3 run HR. Went 13 innings but I stole it. FYI they won't take Percival out and no matter how tired he gets he still throws perfect 100 fast balls and 79 change ups which is total BS
Good idea. I came here to post the same thing as OP. This is the first one I’ve struggled with. On the rare occasion that Percival throws a hittable strike, it goes no where. But bunting with Raines is money. I will fill my lineup with speedsters and see how that goes.
-
For the record I have two left….Percival and the final one which will be easy. I thought they were fun but I’ve come around on moments and find them mostly fun now.
-
My brothers and sisters in christ, Buck Leonard can suck my nuts...that 2 XBH moment last night gave me fits...he just rolled over on EVERYTHING. Probably took me 30 mins to do that moment alone

So i got 3 "moments" left and they're 3 inning games (Percival, the Giants one and the one on AS). Honestly wasnt as much a pain in the [censored] as i thought it was gonna be.
Man I hate those
-
I don't bunt,so when a situation might call for it- I can't bunt.
So what I did for Percival is first I had a lineup that I hit well with (and despite many homers/xbh with Schwarber Trea and Soto I couldn't get that 3rd run)my 2nd lineup featured 100+ con and pwr vs right(mix of rh and lh) same results, could get to 2 easily but not 3.
My final lineup was all lefties (again 100+ con and pwr vs R but also high vision)took a few attempts but a single or walk by Holliday 2run bomb by Bazzana grounder to 2nd by Ruth(who wasn't running, then all of a sudden was)a wide throw and he was safe on an error then Soto launched one into the cf grass hill. What a relief to have it done. This and mccovey were definitely the hardest 2 moments.
