Animation slowdown during swings

Has anyone noticed that if he played online ranked or even versus the CPU the animation slows down just for half a second or even a little bit on instant replay where your batter makes contact? I was always curious if it's a TV problem or is this part of actual game?

I noticed it a lot a few years ago when I played on a big screen tv. Not so much anymore when I play on a monitor.
