Gameplay Issues
-
This only relates to offline, I don't play online as there are too many mitigating factors in the overall experience so I can't comment on that. I have checked through the gameplay update history and am surprised there is no mention of any recent gameplay updates. In the last couple of weeks, the game feels COMPLETELY different.
I play primarily on ALL-STAR pitching and hitting as to me it feels the most naturally balanced gameplay without it making me wanna rip out what hair I have that remains.
I have a good time with it, but lately, something is off.
As an example, every hit in the PCI with good timing and solid connection now sounds flat off the bat and flops out into the outfield only to be caught each time or results in a fly ball to the outfield
Also when fielding the CPU will make solid contact and my outfielder will be held in place for like half a second not allowing me to initiate the run to make the catch and wouldn't you know it each time the ball lands just in front of him (this is the most egregious rubber-banding I've seen in an MLB game to date and one of the reasons I loved the game was it always felt fair and balanced unlike other sports titles)
The AI also seems to be leaning towards pre-determined outcomes in games and again to explain I have tested this theory.
The AI will get into a groove around the middle innings and start fouling off ball after ball, no problem that happens but here's the thing. I switched the pitching difficulty down to minors at that stage and the AI continues to foul off everything or again even more frustratingly it will hit a perfect line drive between the outfielders (remember this is still on minors difficulty) If the outcome was not predetermined how is it able to do this? I am not new to the game either, I've played the show since 2014 and I have never come across this before.

Some of those things you can't really solve. The rubber banding and other weird glitches are just a part of the game in the worst way. However, you could mess with your sliders and see if that makes anything better for you. The sliders are universal to the difficulty so it shouldn't matter which difficulty you are on.

It definitely happens. I even tested this by cranking attributes all the way up to 99s and playing a zero rated team on rookie vs CPU and the CPU was still able to paint the corners of the strike zone and random hitters fouled of 10 straight pitches while hitting and hit multiple no doubt HRs on 102mph dotted fastballs from me. Yes, it was rare but it definitely happened far more than you would think.
