Two weeks into S2: thoughts

It's extremely boring. I've kept up with everything up to this point, but now I'm done. I liked the idea of power creep, but it doesn't really work with seasons. I have to use a bunch of cards I don't want to use to earn/collect a bunch of cards I don't want to use until I finally get to the ones I want a few months later. And then I can't use them when I earn them if I want to progress things in the next season because they don't count towards TA. And you basically have to finish TA to earn the collection boss rewards. The entire framework is terrible. Season 1 should not have ended with 99s, and season 2 should not have started with 89s. That's not "creep", that's a full reset that hardly anyone wants to do.
The XP rewards in programs at the end of season 1 finally rewarded you, but then they nerfed them back to the earlier program levels for the start of season 2. Repeating the same bosses in the program path 3 times is just stupid and lazy, especially when P5ing them gets them to the same overall as the next one (and yes I realize the attributes are different). It just feels like a slog to progress in any meaningful way. I really want the HOF Griffey but I can't put myself through this and have fun with it anymore.
I love baseball and have played every iteration of the show. This is pretty much the breaking point. I don't have any faith they're going to improve this, but I guess we'll see next year.

SDS makes this far more complicated than it needs to be.

The one thing I very strongly disagree with the general consensus of this forum is the multiple versions of Griffey/Chipper/Halladay. I like this, and those are the rare cards Im enjoying this season. I think the complaints about this are just absurd. If you don't like them, dont use them.

I don't hate it as much as I thought I would from a player / card perspective only bc I completed the live series towards the end of S1. With the Castillo captain - all of my position players are 92+. However - I am disappointed that they didn't really address the XP earned during gameplay. I guess that will stay the same the entire year. Definitely not playing as much as I did in S1. But having 3 great bosses to work towards is keeping me motivated right now.

@Teak2112_MLBTS I also am a fan of the “Boss power creep” cards. I used that 95 Halladay in ranked and it was very easy to control.

@Teak2112_MLBTS I think I get you however, it doesn't make much sense to me to earn cards you like or worked for late in the season only to be out of rotation then reprinted for you to grind for yet again ......
I don't think I have a problem with reprints or alternate versions but you also can't use both at the same time anyways. In other card games there are battlefield (ie in play cards or on the roster) and you cannot have the EXACT version of a card twice but you can absolutely use alternate versions together.
My point being, I don't like reprints you make me regrind for or force me to play other game modes I don't play just so you can make the game feel "fresh". I'm playing a franchise that's been the same for 10+ years. Nothing you can do at this point is "fresh". -
I personally enjoy the diamond dynasty mode, collecting the cards from past and present players. However with that being said, SDS needs to focus more on gameplay quality over the other stuff. This game has really veered off course over the past 5-6 years

You'd think they would listen to the people complaining about this but I guess not. They have to make money with the stubs because the cards are bad unless the bye the one on the store. Pathetic

Rather pointless to have team affinity 89 for set 2. Many players have live series completed or close to it which makes many of these cards useless in ranked. Especially the pitchers. Would have been simple to make them 91 instead with a little extra juice and make it a little interesting. The majority of the core including the captain cards 87 were better than most of the cards in the program.
