Two weeks into S2: thoughts

It's ok so far. I do miss my s1 Cubs cards though. I had a really nice team put together. Hoping sds releases more cubbies soon, that are earnable and or affordable..
-
I liked that I used different guys this time than last time. I liked the Castillo boost for LS players. But since I'm Offline only it doesn't matter who I use. Still I had fun, finished it up yesterday.

I played my first ranked game of S2 last night, and it was great to use some cards I missed, like Bernie Williams, some I hadn’t used, Captain Jeter, and Posada as my Wild Card, oh and Babe, who I didn’t have until a few weeks ago. And some of the new cards are great! Santander, Rosario, that Rookie Acuna card! and Halladay.

I'm... OK with it. Not super excited, but I haven't stopped playing, either. I think I would have been better if Season 1 finished at 89 and Season 2 started at 91, and so on.

@MarioMendoza935_XBL that would defeat the purpose

Only one word to describe it and that is "BORING"
Don't ask me why, but since S2 I am having a hard time playing. -
It started out fine with the return of conquests, mini season resets, and the notice of two upcoming programs and conquests.
However, the programs gave a total of 4 cards and 1 pack and now the upcoming content scheduled is barren. Season 2 has no 'juice' to it. And ive gone from playing multiple hours every day to struggling to play for more than a game or two because I have no desire to use the limited amount of season 2 cards available, I dont have desire to go back to core/live series, and there is nothing on the schedule to look forward to
The game has taken a monumental nosedive since one year ago. Last year's pre all star break content was fantastic. The biggest program all year, which was released on day 1, would have been the smallest at this point last year.
-
It's horrible. The cards are boring, the programs are boring, the pace is still too slow due to awkward program requirements, and the one wild card slot does nothing to help the fact that I can't play the cards that I earned with my previous 200 hours of grinding.

For me it's been better than I thought it would be. I've started to enjoy the reset and using so many live series cards has been fun while I knock out the TA missions. We'll see if I'll still enjoy the reset for the next couple seasons when we do it again, but for now I have enjoyed it more than I expected.
For you everything they do is good, your opinion is biased.

That's simply not true. Some stuff is good, some stuff is bad.

I'm enjoying using the live series cards again and beginning the power creap again. Makes you use cards that you probably forgot about and just using different cards all together

True. But I'd like it better.

This used to be the most active and enjoyable part of the cycle, lots of people finishing live series collections, looking forward to the big collection and all-star game content, really filling out your rotation and lineup. This year the game and community around it feel empty, roster options are terrible and progression in player overalls move way too fast. My personal opinion is that this is close to the worst possible content structure you could design.
-
I'm also likely to skip the ranked season this time
The cards are an issue here again, but also the 200 hits and 100 runs missions are an enormous turnoff.
The full track in the past was doable in 125 innings and felt a perfect length, I suspect that will no longer be the case. -
I pretty much try to play at least one ranked game a night and I hate it every time. Casual feels so much better. And it doesn't even bother me when the opponent is stacked out their gord cause I'm still playing with my favorite cards and doing well with them. I literally only play ranked when I'm sick of not getting XP or PxP and getting your [censored] kicked in on ranked being depressed and angry AF is better for your XP than popping off and have a great time in casual.
It is what it is.....

It defeats the purpose of finally getting an XP reward card you grinded for on your own time only to have them rotate out of use two days later.
-
After wiping my mind clean of all the great cards I had, it kind of feels... ok I guess? I'm sure I'm talking myself into why I think guys like Ramos, Toro, Owen Miller, etc are "way better than I thought!". I'm probably delusional and just want to pretend the game is great because I love baseball. So don't count my opinion but I'll keep playing for now.

It’s been fantastic. SDS has really showed up the haters big time.

It's extremely boring. I've kept up with everything up to this point, but now I'm done. I liked the idea of power creep, but it doesn't really work with seasons. I have to use a bunch of cards I don't want to use to earn/collect a bunch of cards I don't want to use until I finally get to the ones I want a few months later. And then I can't use them when I earn them if I want to progress things in the next season because they don't count towards TA. And you basically have to finish TA to earn the collection boss rewards. The entire framework is terrible. Season 1 should not have ended with 99s, and season 2 should not have started with 89s. That's not "creep", that's a full reset that hardly anyone wants to do.
The XP rewards in programs at the end of season 1 finally rewarded you, but then they nerfed them back to the earlier program levels for the start of season 2. Repeating the same bosses in the program path 3 times is just stupid and lazy, especially when P5ing them gets them to the same overall as the next one (and yes I realize the attributes are different). It just feels like a slog to progress in any meaningful way. I really want the HOF Griffey but I can't put myself through this and have fun with it anymore.
I love baseball and have played every iteration of the show. This is pretty much the breaking point. I don't have any faith they're going to improve this, but I guess we'll see next year.

SDS makes this far more complicated than it needs to be.
