Why are live series cards always not as good?

    You would think the best player at their position would be at minimum a 96, or at least power creep them throughout the year. Never made sense to me why the live series cards are always lower.

    Excellent point, and I totally agree. Why are unproven rookies or players with one good week more highly rated than the best Live Series players. It's silly.

    Totally agree. I posted some ideas a week ago on how SDS could fix live series and make the more usaable/valuable. Here they are again and I would amend this by actually bumping the rating on the LS cards a bit as well across the board:

    Get rid of sets and go back to innings programs with power creep again. It worked...it was great...should not have changed it. Nothing will be worse that grinding the next two weeks to get 30 "99's", only to be able to use them for 2-3 weeks then most never again until January 2025. Doing this will also bring back even more Value to the LS in the first few months of the Game Cycle.

    Now, how can you improve use and value of Live Series deeper into the Game Cycle? Here are some new innovation ideas...

    Add the option of adding a Perk/Quirk(s) to an individual Live Series players. I love the concept of quirks, and Paralleling players is probably the best addition to the game in the last 5 years (please dont get rid of that), but if i decided to P5 Bubba Thompson, and I want to increase some of his attrubutes, how cool would it be to be able to attached a Perk or two to a player (which would be available in packs on the market) to enhance some of that players attributes and give more variabilty to the game and make the Live series cards more valuable. You'd only be able to use them once (so if you wanted to use on other players, you'd need to get more Perks). Even the concept for of adding different pitching Perk to a pitchers would make using the Live Series even more interesting. Also, consider giving a reward for P5ing a players (a wheel spin, or something).

    This might be controversial, but its time to do away with "Finest." Instead, make the the best Live Series Players become The Finest players after the end of the season. So if you have Live Series Elly De La Cruz, and bought him as a Silver, and by the end of the Season he's the MVP and would normally get a finest card, instead, turn his Live Series Card into the Finest Card. This would bring investing to a whole new level and actually give the Live Series Card FAR more value than just being used to collect for the Set Rewards.

    Lastly, speaking of Sets. Go back to the WAY you used to do Live Series Set Collections, and their should be 99 Rewards for AL, NL and ALL again. This years collection rewards outside of the Babe are abysmal. And getting rid of the League Rewards was really bad. In addition, we need far more collections for all cards in general by type, as for some of us, collecting and getting those rewards is one of the best parts of the game. We need to go back to MLBtheShow 20 and 21 to see how collection can be done best.

    They were good at the beginning of the year but not so much now. Maybe become useful again in Season 2.

    Many moons ago guys like live series trout and seager were viable all year, the problem was people didn’t need to spend on other players if they had live series versions so they intentionally started nerfing live series players to make them not viable past the first few weeks of the game. I’ll never forget the mlb players tournament of 2020 when Alex Bregman was asking while playing “why am I having to pinch run for Tony kemp?” The reason was to get people to spend lol

    This year live series cards have been the most useful compared to any year that I’ve played the game. Will still be useful for the start of season 2. Some of those cards were god squad for the majority of season 1

    Mookie Betts live card has been a beast for me since his first at bat , heres the thing about cards and performance , IF you play the card through its initial crappy phase from start , when it starts performing the card will be a good card , you can do it with a diamond or a bronze , i know this because ive done it before , some cards start out great , most you have to work through that initial period of [censored] to get to the center of the Tootsie Roll Tootsie Pop , it has nothing to do with paralell upgrades , its a CPU thing , ive done stuff like pitched a pitcher for 250 innings in one game , just kept walking batters in to keep the game alive to prove their energy meter was [censored] , lost the screen shots when my old computer crashed , the CPU will determine how long a no hit streak will last , let every player on your team get stuck out and choose one player to actually hit , that player will give you your stat within 2 innings , the CPU controls way more than you may think , look closely at a pitch coming in towards the edge of the strike zone and dont swing , its clearly going to miss , but because you did not swing the ball flickers and suddenly its a strike , how many times have you hit a fly ball and the ball leaves the screen , the trajectory is going to drop , but wait , wheres my ball , here comes the fielder and suddenly the ball falls to him , its no accident the ball leaves the screen on a fly ball , or that a pitch fickers and suddenly its a strike , why does a first basement running out a infield hit that runs like he has a piano strapped to his back with a speed rating of 15 seem to reach first base about the same speed as a 99 runner , you ave some control over the game , im not saying we dont , but a large portion is tweaked by the cpu

    I 100% don't agree with a few of the rating upgrades, they just don't seem to make sense. Mason Miller should be a mid gold...I'm not saying he shouldn't be diamond, there's just no way he should be diamond ALREADY. Yimi Garcia got a +2 bump, despite spending much of the last two weeks on the IL, Jose Berrios continued to be lights out, and got a +1, and Kikuchi has also continued to flourish and got nothing.
