Then why is finding matches in BR and Ranked far faster than it was at any point last year?
Event mode is anti-casual, I got my 2 doubles for Easter and its doubtful I'll ever play it againThis is true but I don’t think it’s because of player population, I’m pretty sure they just loosened matchmaking restrictions. Never in my time playing this game, even at the peak of huge content drops, have I found a match immediately after queuing up. The last week or so it has been immediate every single time
Games loosen matchmaking restrictions when the populations dive that’s a fact

So I played about 10 more event games last night the worst player I ran into was 60-32 the game is dead I have see no casuals in weeks. I don’t accept the idea that it’s just bad luck like the crappy hitting that will reward late and early swings with moon beams but good pci/timing are outs. If it’s consistent it’s not bad luck.
Question:
Are casual and bad synonymous for you? If that record had been 32-60 would they then be a casual? I would say no since they apparently would have put in the same number of hours as the 60-32 player.
Casual to me is a measure of time spent and not skill.
I doubt I have the time but I would be curious to see who I would get matched up against if I chose to play events with my 0-1 online record.

Sure but that would be to keep matchmaking times down/at the same level. If queue time went up from like 20 seconds to 1 minute and then back down to 20 seconds, I could see that argument. But the time went from 20 seconds (these are just arbitrary numbers to explain my point) to 0 seconds randomly, not sure we can discern anything on player count from the matchmaking time in this case.

@Doctor-Fauci910 generally you can just go to YouTube and twitch to see viewership numbers and just do a good estimate.
Like if CoD on Twitch has 100,000 people watching cod streams it's save to say the game isn't dead. If there's 100 people watching The Show streams you can safely say the game is dead when compared to your every day common video game.

@AdeptOfMemory Maybe Streamers numbers are down cause people are too busy playing the game instead of watching someone play the game.

MLB will never compete with Cod on twitch, Not a lot of sports games maybe outside of Madden or Fifa do well on twitch.
-
@TEXAS10PT I spend all day logging in and out so that I can "like" all my own posts. Someone has to do it.
-
@GixxerRyder750 that's not how that works lol

@chucky97___ Sports games don't do well because they aren't near as popular. It's far more entertaining (to the average person not directed) to just watch the real sport than to watch someone play a simulation of that sport.
It's not as if sports games just don't do well on Twitch or YouTube, it's that they simply are not as popular. There's nothing wrong with that either.

I'm surprised this thread is still open and some of the posters aren't banned by now.

That just doesn't track. Interest in the game will translate to interest in streams. I would assume that lots of people who play the game have streams on too -- not most, not the majority, but lots.
In fact, streamers' numbers being low is probably a fairly reliable indication of player count being low (relatively speaking).

@x814xmafia Bruh, SDS doesn't even pay attention their own game. Why they gonna pay attention to a forum lol

For anyone else who cares about the streams argument that active players translate to stream viewership:
Twitch Numbers
CoD: Warzone - 21.6 Mil followers ~60k concurrent viewers
Fortnite - 93.1 Mil followers ~85k concurrent viewers
FIFA 23 - 3.4 Mil followers ~100 concurrent viewers
Madden 24 - 137k followers ~1.5k concurrent viewers
MLB The Show 24 - 24.7k followers ~1.7k concurrent viewers
One thing to add is that's it's not football season and Madden 25 will be released this year probably going to do devastating numbers on The Show (NCAA already will too). FIFA as well will be releasing a new game so those numbers are currently that low because these games are in their final months until new one.
The only thing we can go buy now is how many downloads or game copies have been sold. We can't really get an accurate number on that. The Show isn't on PC so that makes it even harder and by default means less players.
This game is much easier to make an argument that it's dead than it is flourishing. And that's not me trying to be shitty that's just because I looked at the numbers.

Muk Bang streams are down too, guess that means eating food is dead.
-
@GixxerRyder750 What's the active playerbase count?
-
@AdeptOfMemory Don't know, but as you stated, you don't need all the relevant data to come to your own conclusions.
-
@GixxerRyder750 .........I gave you relevant data. What would be more accurate for you?
-
@AdeptOfMemory it's your audience as well, games like cod, apex, fort, those type of games appeal to everyone, sports games are tough because those that play sports might like them, other pop games like BR games reign supreme, I remember mlb 18 was basically over ruled by fortnite.

Right here my guy...as stated by you...the most important piece of information needed. Cause you're trying to compare Streaming Viewership to people playing a videogame stating there is a direct relationship between the two.
-
@chucky97___ So steaming numbers reflect that.....idk what's so hard to grasp about that statement for y'all. If the game isn't as popular and the category of game isn't as popular than it will simply not be as popular.
I bet you would get a similar result of you searched Pokemonn, hearthstone, or MTGA streams. That category of game isn't as popular as shooters or typical video games. Naturally those games have a smaller playerbase which reflects in a smaller stream usage. That's not hard to understand but SDS simps, oh I'm sorry I learned that hurts y'all's feelings a little bit, SDS chumps refuse to acknowledge a statistic that accurately reflects the size of a community. Y'all think I'm dense but holy [censored].....this is simple math not a Christopher Nolan film.
