And our first Lightning Player is Bobby Witt Jr.

Happy for Royals fans as they truly got the shaft last year.
Let the complaining begin.
-
should of been The Big Bear Ozuna

I'm not sure they'll touch Ozuna with a 10-foot pole.
Could have been Tyler O'Neil, too.
-
GREAT! So fun to watch and looking forward to him hitting .131 as my leadoff hitter!
-
Fun fact: he's easy to trade for in franchise because the CPU massively devalues players who have big contracts. Sigh.
Kind of cringe that 2 of the 3 reasons they give are exit velo and hard hit %...
It's an interesting choice, for sure.
-
Excited for this card! Hoping he has 2B secondary so I can take out Colt Keith
I don’t want to sub out Ernie or Eddie

There are lot's of players it could have been. They just have to cherry pick the stats they want to use. Plus we have a Classics program next week so maybe some of the contenders were already planned to be in that pack.
And, yeah I don't get how so many people are rooting for Ozuna when they pretty much cancel every other player who has had domestic battery charges against them, and that does not even take into account his DUI. Probably not a player MLB (and by extension The Show) is looking to promote.
-
Excited for that card, and not complaining, but isn't a 95 kinda low for the "lightning" player when the other one dropping today is a 93?

Hmmmm...that reminds me...perhaps a Wander Franco card in the Classics program??? With an Ozuna throwback and an Alomar card?

Honestly, no. If anything, maybe 94 would be better. Saying this because power creep is supposed to be a thing this year. We're a month in and we've already gone from 89's to 95.
Perhaps they're viewing the launch of NCAA as the cycle?

@K9_21owl
'Wild Bat Ozuna' can't touch Betts. -
How are we getting this card? Program? Single free pack? Paid pack?
-
@xElRojo44x huh?
-
I didn't think he'd get it, but congrats to him and those Royals fans!

You have to have done all 4 Season award drop programs and then collect the 4 players you get from that.
At least that is how I understand it.
-
@SuntLacrimae50 fair point. I just figured with the Ranked seasons cards for round two being in the mid-high 90s (can't recall the kirk rating but I know the two WS ones are 97) I just figured the lightning player would be closer to that.
-
we have to do all 4 season awards drop programs to get him!?!?
How tf am I ever gonna do that playing 3 hours a week? -
Rare SDS W this year

How tf am I ever gonna do that playing 3 hours a week? The programs are not that bad. The first one is kind of painful because you don't have cards yet. But once you have done one they get quicker as you can load your Lineup with the players, play a 9 inning rookie CPU game against a team with bad pitching in a hitter friendly park and things go fast.
That said, even as a casual player myself, if your time is that limited you have to be selective about what you try and complete because you can't do everything with limited time.
