Eckersley shut out mission

Anyone have any tips to get past the veteran shut out mission. Been trying off and on for the last couple out weeks. I can get K's without a problem. The last 2 times I have tried the mission. I have gone 8 2/3 inning only to end up getting scored on. Can someone offer me some insight. Thanks in advance.

I’ve had 17-18 strikeouts going into the 9th inning a couple times, only to have a lowly player jack one. An alternative way to do it is to pitch to content to certain players the first 3-4 innings to keep your pitch count lower for the end. If you give up runs early, just restart. I wasted a ridiculous amount of time the first couple weeks having to restart after 7 or 8 innings after a ridiculous homerun that shouldn’t have happened. I finally just moved past it. I’m almost at 600 stars without playing showdown, conquest, eck or Granderson. Figure those will still be available after the 2nd inning starts if I want to bump higher into 1st inning for any reason. I’ve played a ridiculous amount of offline games while being out of work.

That one took me a few tries it gets frustrating when you give it up in the 8th or the 9th. I had it with 1 out remaining and gave up a HR that sucked but I eventually got it done.

Yeah, Marcus Semien took me deep twice in the 9th to cost me shutouts. Finally beat it mu throwing high in inside early in the count then using the low Sliders for the K's..... also mixed in his sinker to prevent HR to power hitter but low and out of the zone so as not to leave it hanging....

The shutouts were not bad for me, but the 3 inning no hitter took like 10 tries.
