My Show24 DD review
-
I wanted to play for at least a week before I posted a review…Overall I would give it a B+…Here’s my breakdown…
Gameplay - A+
I think gameplay is the best it’s ever been. ALL types of hitters are viable options. Whether I’m batting leadoff with Tony Gwynn & ripping single after single or swinging for the fences with Griffey or Gibson, It all feels awesome. I also love that for the first time ever defense in the outfield is making a noticeable difference. Gone are the days of running common or bronze fielders out there without consequences - LOVE IT!!!…The only thing I wish they would tweak is the pitch speed on All-Star, It’s just too slow. You can’t blow any fastball by anyone - Even the 103 mph pitches. Definitely needs a bump.
Content - A
It’s much too early to rate content but for out of the gates week one I have no complaints. There’s plenty to do & plenty of options for just being week one.
DD structure - C+
Yes, I’m one of those guys that doesn’t like not having the option of playing any & all cards year round. If you earned it, It should be yours & you should have the right to play with it in any & all modes at any time. That’s just how I feel to my core. And while they’re allowing 4 wild cards, It’s still a limiting form of control over players.
I’m glad they removed created players from DD, Maybe next year they’ll remove or place a limit on specifications of created stadiums.
In closing - I am having fun & enjoying playing the game & that’s the most important thing. Will I get burned out like last year? To be determined…But for now, I’m good and I would recommend the game to others.

4 wild cards is a stretch. Even in the teaser it shows it at like 150,000 xp for the next season. So you’ll earn them as you go you won’t start with them most likely. It’s concerning, I’m fairly certain one will behind a collection paywall so I’m assuming it’s actually 1 with the ability to earn 3 possibly, but who knows how hard it will be.
Games a solid 8/10 though, could be better, could be A LOT worse.

People always be acting like the restrictions affect every game mode.
It’s such a standard thing in a video game, to have people accomplish certain tasks with certain restrictions.
