We need more ways to earn cards
-
Diamond Dynasty used to be about grinding programs and missions. There used to be a list of cards that could only be obtained if you put in a lot of work.
Now, like the past 2-3 years, I’ve quickly ran out of things to do except flip cards and the game is quickly already getting stale.
I can appreciate the frequency of new cards being added to the game, but with them almost exclusively coming in packs in the shop, it’s turned into a money grab.
It’s crazy to me that “give me something to do” is something I’m repeating every year…
-
The game has only been out for a week. Regular release was Tuesday. Hopefully we get some cool content next week for the opener
-
@Dodgers1876 yeah hopefully. I just remember how last year new content was added about weekly but it was usually a program that took a couple hours to complete. I want something that’s going to keep me busy for awhile.
-
I do miss the long grind missions. I remember that Hanley Ramirez Dodger card from like 17 or 18. Took me forever to get him and when I got him I was so happy. It would be cool to get some stuff like that again
-
This is my main gripe. You get nothing for playing ranked.
-
@MauserExtractor nothing besides a ton of free packs, the McCutchen and the WS choice pack in the ranked program, you mean?
-
@AstrosJake So.....team affinity isnt a program with missions that gives you 30 cards for putting in a lot of work?
-
It’s coming be patient
-
TikTok has ruined these kids brains I swear. If they’re not given new content every hour, or a new carrot to chase then the game must be DOA and abandoned right?
Games been out officially for 3 days and the dudes already saying there’s nothing to do. CRAZY.
-
@AstrosJake You really need to pump the brakes and maybe play something else if you're burning through [censored] so fast.
Whenever I read these posts, I'm almost glad I work as much as I do during the week. I'd be miserable if I was always wanting more.
-
@GoldenGamingKM
Yep. It’s great to enjoy the game but even better to have a life outside of it. Most people that have other obligations in life have plenty to keep them busy. There will never be enough content for those players that play all day every day.

I love team affinity. But it doesn’t take very long to do.

Lol I’m either as old as you or older. Been playing DD since 2015. It’s undeniable that the format of DD the last couple years has shifted strongly away from grind-heavy and towards pay to play.
I want more cards that are ONLY obtainable via playing the game. Right now there aren’t many that are that way. Absolutely wild that that’s a controversial take.
And the game’s been out a week for those who pre-ordered it. I’m not the only one who isn’t happy with what I described above.

Was that when we had to "grind innings" for those team cards? Where all of us went to the forums and added friends to play with to get those innings and individual stats completed. And we'd let the cpu play overnight to build up innings. Back then those games be in the 80th inning when id wake up, lol. I remember those days!

Remember the master stat missions? Polo Grounds was essential to grind triples lol.
I remember there was one year (2017?) where there were 3 boss players and the path to get them was RIDICULOUS. At the time I hated it and thought it was too much, but I wish it could come back lol

@AstrosJake it’s not controversial, it’s just wrong. There’s plenty of cards you can only earn via playing the released content.
Let’s add it up roughly:
14 or so cards via story lines
30 from TA part 1
6ish from conquest
1 from mini seasons
B G O from season 1 collectionsThis isn’t even including the guys along the xp path.
If in a week youve managed to play all story lines, finish USA conquest, finish all the TAs to 100%, and ran through 1 mini season for Salvy…
Then I think you might just play too much. Don’t be shidding on the game saying it has a lack of content if all you’ve done for 24 hours a day is chew through the launch content.
-
@NAPage11 I'd be willing to bet that players who feel there's "no content" a week into the game, are offline only. Which is fine, I'm not judging anyone for how they choose to play.
-
@Easy_Duhz_It_ xp being limited and if you get to 250 innings you stop getting the points from innings played. It’s designed this year to be a slow grind. Not everyone wants to play conquest and other modes to get packs.
-
I think they could really benefit from some sort of specific single game stat missions to chase every time you play in either ranked or online. Basically everything kind of gets throw into a big blob called PXP which isn’t as satisfying.
Repeatable missions like 5000 xp for Two HRS with one player in a game or hitting for the cycle, or for a complete game shut out would just make things a lot more fun from a game to game basis.
I still think the Griffey program was the most fun program, was 4/4 with 2 HRS hard? yeah, but you were trying every game to get it and it made every game fun.
There should 100% be a huge bonus for breaking any career stat missions with one player through the year as well. Just things to make it more fun. The content isn’t terrible, but they could do better. Rookie to HOF cards could get brought back but take months to achieve and be a lot of fun to grind out for your favourite player.
-
OP this maybe a issue that is more you then the game, looking at your past post you have made a post at the launch week of each game dating back to 20 about how there is not enough content. If you are burning through everything in 3 to 7 days nothing SDS can do when they design content to last 1 to 2 weeks for the average player.
