Can you use any team in March 2 Oct and get credit for any Team Affinity?

I already started a season with the Mets in March 2 October and I am now working on the AL East Team Affinity...
Do I need to use an AL East team in M2O or once I hit the All Star break do I get a choice of what TA to use it towards?
Or will it just apply the TA points to the NL East (the Mets division)? -
I'm pretty sure the xp you gain applies ONLY to the division your team is in. That's how it was in previous years.

Your MTO for the Mets will apply to the NL East TA. It's not a wasted effort to finish your season with the Mets (unless you've already finished the NL East TA) and then begin one with an AL East team to get the points for the TA you're working on now.

If you enjoy the mode, it's great. But if your main motivation is TA, then it's a terrible time-to-xp value.

I don't know about that. If you play on Veteran and do well, you can get over 1/4 of the points needed to finish a division. Even on Rookie, a very nice chunk of points can be obtained.

@SuntLacrimae50 Maybe...but to run through Mini Seasons to get vouchers that only convert to 2,800 TA point isn't great either.....
Because Captains are so limited now , to use a team with boosts that is viable enough to accumulate stats for TA, there's not a lot of options right now.
The worst thing SDS did was give us no way to get captains other than 4 total packs for 25K each. And then I think you can earn 2 more total from S1. -

You can save it for next TA, leave it one game before the end of the season snd you get a huge head start on the next ones. If you finish the entire thing from one game away front the end it’s like half the way through a TA

You're not just getting single vouchers that convert to 2800 TA points. You're getting 17 vouchers that convert to 47,600...on top of the points you're accumulating for pxp missions, boss missions, Hits/Ks/etc.
And then theres the 55 Show packs, 7 BIAH packs, stubs and xp towards the reward program.
