I know a lot of people build a teams around speed but I never steal much, and what you can do with this guy is making building a team a lot more fun than most years.

I realized I didn’t even have him set and immediately had 5/5 for the first boost. Just adding in a couple slower guys on the bench got me to 8, but you don’t really need to sacrifice much to go for the 11/11 and some of the Team Affinities work perfectly. Crawford SS, Turner 2nd, Arenado 3rd, Votto 1st, Grandal C, Whoever you want at DH let’s you hit 8 really easy with the bench. I obviously don’t have them yet, but it’s alot more fun getting to build around a theme that actually has value this year, especially during the CPU grind.

Where it gets kinda crazy is the fact you can keep upgrading it, Aaron Judge, Corey Seager, and Yordan Alvarez also have less than 45 speed, and the attributes they have, lack in the areas the Captain boosts. Alvarez becomes a freak tbh. Which is big because having one outfielder makes it a lot easier to hit 11/11 or even allows you to have a speed guy on the bench for pinch running. Currently I have Matt Olson in RF until I can upgrade to Tucker or Alvarez.

Really hope they keep making these viable, and the exchange to trade in your Captain for a different one is also awesome, even if you didn’t make a mistake you can do it all again with another one when you get bored.
