The Show 24 Attributes
-
The attributes are based on the previous 3 seasons, right? I'm curious how they weight those seasons. I'm watching the ratings reveal right now and the attributes simply do not make sense. Michael Harris II had reverse splits in 2023, but even if you weight 2023 2:1 over 2022, his batting average against lefties is still far less than against righties. Similar with Luis Arraez. Sure, he batted nearly .330 against lefties last year, but he batted .265 and .253 the two years prior. Does that really warrant 99(+) contact? And then you have Jazz Chisholm, with only 80 power vRHP. His overall is about right at 83 because he should crush righties and suck against lefties, but his ISO vRHP over the past 2 seasons has been elite. It's almost like they placed more weight on his 2021 stats. There is just no consistency here. How are they coming up with these attributes?

They probably use this more than just batting average to figure these things out.

I don't know if it is still the case but I think it used to be 50% for last year and 25% each for the two previous years. It has been a long time since they gave us that info so it could have changed.

@fubar2k7 Idk the last time they went into detail about it, but the last time they did, they said they only use statcast for speed and defense attributes. Contact is based on average, power on ISO, vision on K%, discipline on BB%, and clutch on average with RISP.
