    Last year there was a belief that XBOX users had an advantage over PS5 users online. Is that still a thing and is there any merit to it?

    Just online? What factors would give a console an advantage online?

    I have both, but I don't play online (okay, I played 2 games in 23). I don't see a performance difference between the consoles. I do see a performance difference between the DualSense controller and the wired PowerA controller. The PowerA controller has stiffer sticks, which gives me a better feeling of control. In addition, the PowerA feels better in my hands (but I don't know why).

    The resolution is the same on both consoles. If anything, there are advantages depending on which TV or monitor is being used.

    Idk about 23 but in 22 whenever they added the feature of 120hz and VRR, there was an input lag and timing window advantage on Xbox, despite the feature being available on both PS5 and Xbox. That's why all the streamers and YouTubers all of a sudden went to Xbox.

    @raesONE-

    This is what I was referring to. There was also a belief that the wired XBOX controller is more responsive. I’m just wondering if that is still the case.

    I wouldn't know, I took a year off and haven't kept up either.

    If I had to rank three things that can give an average player an advantage in this game it's

    3: Game version— last gen is capped at 30FPS & often runs below that during pitching & fielding
    2. Wired remotes— You mentioned it earlier but someone w/ a wired remote would have an advantage over non-wired, but it's not console exclusive. In Xbox, Pinpoint pitching sometimes glitches out when using a non-wired remote and that doesn't happen with wired.

    1. TV v Monitor — The biggest advantage is playing on the device that gives you the least amount of input lag. Does me playing w/ a wired controller on XB1 matter if you're hosting the game on fiber internet playing through your 4K monitor?

    As others mentioned, there are little things that give XBX an advantage over PS5— but it's nothing you'll notice playing a ranked game. This isn't an EA game, skill matters in the end

    Everything you say is true but not what OP is referring to. All the things you mention is fairly common knowledge. There was (perhaps still is, not sure) an input lag difference between the two consoles during the life cycle of MLBTS 22. Meaning that if you'd have the exact same variables such as wired connection, wired controller, low input lag monitor and so on, there would be a difference in input lag and timing windows in favor of Xbox compared to PS5 with those exact same unchanged variables.

    False pinpoint still glitched and broken with xbox standard controller even when plugged in.

    @GoozeFn from my experience, they have some sort of advantage where they're loss is certain and they do some glitch while they are pitching and I'm batting. I mostly experience this and Co-op and every time when we're about to win somewhere around the 7th or 8th inning the game will freeze while they're pitching and we're batting. We used to just quit and assume that everyone took a loss but then my friend quit one time and I haven't quit yet and the game resumed once he left and those two opposition players were still there. I'm going to research that see how they're doing that

    Turn off cross play.
