Hey I still try and take in a few episodes of Dragnet every now and then lol it’s entertaining on so many levels when you watch it
There is a whole shrine to Jack Webb at the police academy. At least there used to be. I haven’t been there in over a decade.

Back from Alaska boys. I see we are headed towards a rematch with the Astros and Phillies.
-
Rangers and Diamondbacks
Gotta go for the underdogs. Considering the 3/4 of the DS winners were underdogs, it doesn't seem so odd. I also think the DBs are better than their record with the momentum to win. I still don't think the Astros should be in the AL, but they are a darn fine team. Just can't root for them though.

Lol. I haven’t touched Excel since 2021. I wonder how much has slipped away in the 2 years away from it.
LOL. I'm still using 2016 - the version I got for $10 when I worked for LAPD (the year I retired). Heh - I just got a text from them asking me to help them with a new sheet because they are changing crime reporting systems and need to change the layout. I can't seem to shake them...I may have to change my phone number.
They’ll find you so don’t bother. Lol. Not an easy job no matter what you did for LAPD so thank you. One of my favorite shows when it was on was SouthLAnd. You can tell me how accurate it was. I heard it was very accurate it but I’m sure you would know better.
I’ve never watched SouthLAnd. I’ll have to look it up. Dragnet and Adam-12 were as close to real as a police tv show could get. The Chief ensured it. There was a show in the mid 90s called Life on the Beat. It was a COPS style show. I was on an episode of that.
So cool. I never saw it but the name does sound familiar. SouthLAnd was great. Started on network and moved to cable. Not sure where it is these days for streaming. I think Tubi carries it for free.

ALCS game one about to begin in about an hour. This should prove to be a fun one to watch!
-
The Show is about to go on, and the field is set. We still have more room in the grid if anyone wants to add their predictions! The Phillies are the NL favorite pick, while the AL is a toss. There should be some great baseball coming up.
-
Not so sure I can agree. There hasn’t been great baseball in the postseason so far.

Maaaaaannnnn, I'm trying to be optimistic for once in my life...

The pool chart has been updated. AL and NL both play tomorrow. The Rangers started out hot by shutting out the Astros. Altuve forgetting to step on 2B when going back was not like him. I was surprised. Carter was awesome in LF tonight.

Btw how about my fellow Tennessean Evan Carter? He made a huge play last night that, had he not done so, well it would’ve hurt them pretty bad. Montgomery looked good in the mound as well. Texas has all the goods….imagine….just imagine had they been able to keep everyone healthy going into the postseason! I know, all teams have suffered untimely injuries but to lose two aces from your staff…ouchie. They’ve done incredibly well but I still say advantage belongs to the astros right now.

I'm anxious to see Evan Carter in action next year. He's too new to evaluate right now (a month in MLB?) but if he keeps going the way he is now, he will be the next superstar. He has everything. Offense, defense, speed, and a smile at the same time. He makes Mike Trout look like a worn-out mare.

He’s fun to watch for sure. Nothing seems to fast for him which is incredible.

Lol ‘she just ain’t what she used to be’ anymore hey? I agree with you completely. I also was simply flabbergasted by the outstanding play/bat of Royce Lewis as well! I know he and the Twins are finished this season but I can’t help but admit that hes coming right long as an incredible blue chip!

Well, I’m wrong a lot but I still say repeat of last year but Philly wins in 7

The chart is being moved to page 11 for quicker reference.

I’m trying not to get myself too awfully spooled up when I think about the prospect of a WS rematch….but I admit I’ve been pulling for this prospect since the trade deadline. Anyone remember the last time we had this? There are several on here that shall - but there are going to be bunches and bunches more who haven’t.
We have to go back to the late 1970’s until we have our last occurrence of this - it’s incredibly special and I’d encourage us all (heck, most were baseball fans long before we started playing it on a console) to pay special attention to this postseason so that, in case this happens to be one of those incredibly special, rare finishes where we get an actual rematch between baseball champions….think of the odds!

But..but...but...I want the Phillies and Rangers in the WS...Ohhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh who am I kidding? I'll watch whomever gets there and if it happens to be a rematch, then I will be there to watch history in the making.

I agree with you 100%! I think the Dbacks vs Rangers would be an awesome WS also, and should it happen I think it has the potential to go 7 as well and be thrilling to watch and i certainly shall watch it no matter who plays and love every minute of it lol!
Still, to have the chances for something special -truly special - and, as you said, rare…well I say bring on the history baby!

Well we got the NL Series opener tonight in Philly and Game 2 of AL (Texas up 1-0) down at Minute Made Park in Houston. Should be a fun night of baseball with Eovaldi on the bump - he’s having a nice post season - against Framber…who is not having too kind of a post season however we all know he can hurl with the best of them. Gonna be fun! Gallen v. Wheeler in the NL so that promises to be fun as well. Got us some Cy Young caliber slingers going tonight fellers!
ALCS game 2 starts in an hour or so (4:37EST), with the NLCS game 1 right after (8:07EST)….see y’all there

Astros can't play with their hands around their necks. Its getting ugly
