Does anyone know if getting rid of the confidence meter turns it off along with its effects or if it just hides it from view? -

I can only submit a guess based on what I’ve learned about the way this game works…and that would be that it would NOT disable it but only clear it from view.
I can give two quasi-examples for my reasoning. One being the PCI - I choose to play with this feature fully disabled however on the feedback map it shows the placement and is necessary for the way the batting engine computes the result from the various input data.
The other is based on the fact that other items in the game that have resulted in glitches could not be remedied in a timely manner (if any manner at all) due to these different components all being married together in the coding. When a simple solution was offered like turning off said feature temporarily it was told to us that this would wreak havoc elsewhere in the game so, based on that logic I would conclude that when you ‘disable’ something visual on this game it simply hides it from the view but it is still very much there.
That’s my try at it partner but there are lots here who know this game far better and they might have inside info that I just ain’t got. Hope you find your answer ok buddy? Good Luck

Definitely only hides it - pitcher confidence is an integral part of the programming of outcomes
