You have to get better at matchmaking

I've went through 4 different connections tonight trying to find one where the balls aren't going 120 mph.
I am in KC. You can't match me with people halfway across the country and expect the game to play good. It is beyond ignorant.
Just played a guy from Hawaii. Yes, I messaged him and he verified. Peer to peer to [censored] Hawaii? Are you kidding me? [censored] miserable.

Long time no see friend how are things aside from the connections?

You can bank on the sun rising in the east, setting in the west, and DEMISE taking about his “connection” issues in 90% of his posts.

Good. How about you?

Was that game from Chicago. I could see that if I was running VPN to California but I wasn't. Other games were wired, 5g and 2g.

That’s great, but are you using a VPN, a proxy server, masking your ISP address?

Even you have to admit matching someone from KC and Hawaii on a peer to peer connection on a game that relies on ms is ignorant. I just don't understand the thought process. Plenty of people playing this game on west coast.
-
If I recall, you have Google Fiber too? Did you upgrade to the 2gb? I'm wondering if the game sees you have such a strong connection they feel like it can connect to farther locations and still be ok.

Yes but are you running a VPN to mask your IP address? If you are, that’s probably why you’re matching with people in Hawaii.

Its actually a mechanic called lag compensation and it has been around for a while. It's not a great mechanic to begin with, but unfortunately neccesary at times, and SDS' implementation of it is beyond horrendous. This is why in some games a 102mph fastball can be timed up without too much trouble if you're looking for it, and in other games it seems like a 150mph fastball.
-
“Married At First Sight” has also gotten really bad at matchmaking. It’s like they stopped trying after season 11.

Ooofff... my wife started watching that show... at Season 11. She usually falls asleep 20 minutes in and I can just run upstairs to play MLBTS.
And yes... I would equate the matchmaking in the show to @DemIsE4_XBL having to play someone from the Philipines.

Thank you, I was about to explain this. Glad you did tho, so many people think demise is in the wrong here yet they don’t understand what he means by warping pitch speeds because they probably play on WiFi or weaker internet than him and get the benefit of the mechanic.
if I am not mistaken lag compensation works by adding artificial lag to those who have a lower ping or better connection, this is why @D_e_m_I_s_E_PSN is still undefeated in his hotspot and why he sees warping pitching speeds and timing windows keep changing from one game to the next.
This also explains why some people who had cable before and now are on 1GB fiber believe his theories, I don’t remember who they were but two people in one his 100000 posts about this said that now they have better internet and have struggles they didn’t have before, when they were on cable.

Demise is not in the wrong at all, has never been the case either. It's just that half the people here have below average intelligence and they find it more amusing to point out the frequency of him bringing up this issue than to look at the actual issue at hand. But people can't debate what they don't understand. So making fun of him is easier for people like that.

Yeah, this is why I tried to explain how it works in simple words, I have the same problem that him and others have like OhChev for example, I noticed that the higher you rank the less you see this happen because competitive players worry about having a good connection. It is worth mentioning that this happens a lot when I get matched up with Puerto Rico, DR and Missouri.
I can tell really fast when DR and PR guys are actually overseas and it’s nothing against them because I grew up in the DR and I know for a fact that top tier internet there is like having 200MBPS cable internet here.

And yet can’t be that big of an issue if he purchases year after year only to whine about the same thing in every post.

I agree here with you, I don’t know why he keeps feeding money to SDS, the reason he complains is because he wants a better product for everyone. Just the same way you complain about uniforms in online rated. You want to see your game mode improve and the overall experience of your community.
