I’ve literally played Season 3 Affinity Central showdown 8 times in a row now. Make it to Holland and lose by a run. Played West for a break. Lost on the final one before the boss by a run. I wish there was an answer to this. Maybe save your progress after the third try. Something.
I’m just over Showdowns. Time consuming just to lose on the final two. Might be done with this game. To upsetting. Sick of raging.

I haven’t played a showdown since probably 20. Just don’t play them.

Just come back to it when you’ve had some time to cool off. The last three attempts you were probably just not in a good frame of mind and were pressing. I, too, have had plenty of unsuccessful attempts at these and what I’ve learned to do is (if I’ve failed 2x) to make sure and pick at least 2-3 different players than I did from the previous attempts. I will literally sit my controller down until the pitcher has thrown a strike to each of the first 5-6 batters…it’s amazing how much this game will reward you if you do this one little thing. Don’t get me wrong, sometimes I can’t stand it and snatch up the controller as the ball is on it way just so I can hit a dribbler or a weak pop up…which quickly reminds me exactly why I was going thru it all in the first place.
Try this. Chances are you’re plenty good enough to do this. If you’ll sincerely give it your best, you’ll win it soon. If you still struggle come back here and let us know as there are plenty of much higher skilled players than myself on this forum who are willing to help you. That’s been my experience in my nearly 6 months of being here.

My showdown strategy . Draft speed. Draft bunting skills , get bunt cheese when available.
Get exit velo boost after 7th inning.
When drafting the next round back out and look to see if you're facing a right or lefty. Get the best contact for thar pitcher with the best speed.
When u set your lineup ger the best commons with the most speed and best bunting skills . Load the top of the lineup with bunt cheesers and bunt until you get 2nd and 3rd. Keep some diamond bats on the bench to replace the common bunt cheesers when u no longer need to bunt cheese. When you're starting with runners on make sure your 7 , 8 , 9 hitters are speedsters .
I almost always finish on first attempt. I had to do east twice but usually finish in one . -

I had to do east twice but usually finish in one .That’s some awesome advice…I’d never even considered the bunting angle i always saw that as like an answer on a multiple choice test that was there clearly as a red herring. I had no clue how awesome i can’t wait to try it myself

I find that playing with a stress less mind is key. Also, I try to get at least 2 +90 speed guys, hard to find on the Central Showdown. Bunts, hitting the other way, and staying out of the DP is huge. I use my speedster at 1,2 and like to get some in the bench to pinch run.
-
I usually don't steal but if the guy has good steal attributes and the pitchers delivery is a slow , steal to Stay out of the dp.

Yes my terrible baserunning in the bane of my existence. I blame it on how easy it was to fool your opponent in “Bases Loaded” back in the day. 30 years later I’m still getting thrown out because of this

Don’t do the showdown or events to get points for TA. Do MTO. Much better for getting a lot of points and they spread across all seasons.

Try skipping Holland and go to the boss. Also don't be afraid to bunt runners over or home, it's the computer, he's dumb.

easiest thing ever these showdowns and its not a flex by any means - i feel like previous years games were just harder with the extreme conquest and stuff - showdowns is do emails, wait for pitches, i usually get almost allof the mini missions and i skip the 2nd last one before the final boss

I have played many Showdowns over the past 3-4 years. This Central one is the only Showdown (other than the Extreme one with Nate Pearson) that I did not complete on the first or second try. I am on my 5th or 6th try and cannot quite get the timing down on this one....Weird.

mate you should - trust me - i am 100% serious when i say i have done emails casually while waiting for my 2 strikes and run the pitcher up in count - i love how the Bunnyman cannot even understand the concept that showdown is this easy for some of us

is that such a hard concept for you mate? does it ruffle your jimmies that some of you guys try SO HARD and fail in showdowns and some of us have our eyes closed getting it perfect the first time, every time?
