While I am still enjoying 2020, I have turned off the commentary, simply because I have heard them say everything a million times. I think the easiest thing for SDS to do is just have two of their own guys do a ton of commentary under fake names, and constantly keep working on it here and there during the year.

They can then not only build up a massive wall of commentary, so they don't have to say the same thing over and over, they can rotate things out to keep it fresh, and not pay a ton of money to professional MLB sportscasters.

I like the theory behind your idea but I would be terrified of SDS employees being the commentators. If it were anything like their streams, it would feel like watching a bad junior high play. Now, local sportscasters or actors would be a good substitute and obviously they wouldn’t have to pay them anywhere near as much. Otherwise I dig the idea and think it would work great.

Fair enough, but I put that out there as the cheapest option. They are already paying them. I have only listened to one of their online streams, the Chisholm as the face of the game disaster.

I am certain that there are as you say many lower tier individuals that could do this though and get the result I was hoping for.

    I vote for play-by-play by @Ericulous1_PSN and color by @SchnauzerFace_MLBTS . I mean... Win/win.

You can turn it off but if you’re playing as much as me the silence is maddening and I don’t wanna play a baseball game to music. I’d go with hiring minor league team broadcasters or even former broadcasters.

I loved the phony commercials in Triple Play Baseball. Jim Hughson & Buck Martinez were very good.
Dan Stevens & Peter O'Keefe were fictional voices of NFL 2K. They were funny af.
If they go fictional voices, they have to be legit funny. I think that goes a long way, but who's out there?

And the 5th inning is brought to you by the ski council of Nebraska. Long smooth rides, and no lift ticket required.

Those were easily the best part of the game. And a lot of the fake advertising on the fields were tied into it.

If you’re gonna go with a fictional character then why not try and get Bob Uecker and reprise Harry Doyle himself as the voice of MLB The Show. Stick with play by play and funny commentary and no stories about the players. We don’t need them.
