Trade freezing my season

Made a trade for Chris Davis to throw him on my bench, but his overall is lower then everyone else on my team. The next mission they make you do is a game as your traded player, except Davis does not appear in my lineups and he cannot be added. It brings me to a full 9inning game instead, which when completed makes things freeze. I'm 3/4 through the season and this is hurting my head.
This happen to anyone else?
