Mercy Rule with Perfect Game after 7 inning?!
-
Listen…I get the whole point of the mercy rule (up 10 on your opponent) in Online Rated but I literally had a perfect game going through 7 innings (up 8-0) and my opponent wasn’t quitting and still playing hard (making pitching changes etc) so being the home team I thought okay maybe they set a rule in place that if it’s a no-no or perfect game scenario it wouldn’t trigger the mercy rule if I scored 10 runs…
WRONG.
Literally scored 2 runs bottom of the 7th inning and the mercy rule ended the game.
So for anyone coming across this scenario in the future if you’re up by almost 10 with a no no or PG going do yourself a favor and swing and miss on purpose on every pitch if you want the game to continue.

Why do you think they could code something like that?

You get nothing for a perfect game so why waste the time purposely swinging and missing and possibly allowing your opponent to not only break up the perfect game but also possibly come back?

1 - Gee idk, maybe because they literally code everything in the game and they coded the animations in there so why couldn’t they code in a rule saying after x innings the merch rule doesn’t come into play if there’s a perfect game or no-no going?
2 - it’s part of baseball, no? You get to see the animation if you do it in RTTS, Ranked, Rated…I mean do you think they added the animations hoping no one saw them?
Just because YOU don’t care about it doesn’t mean others can’t.
