Why so dramatic with the “I’m deleting the game for a few weeks” comment
I see that often on here
Congrats on getting a console with infinite storage space. Some of us have to delete games to make room to try new games.
You see comments like this often because a lot of players are frustrated/losing interest in the game, and this is a good forum for providing feedback to SDS.
Na that’s a cop out
You could’ve easily conveyed your message by sayin I’m going to stop playing this game and play something else for a while
The whole- “i’m uninstalling the game” is used to be dramatic and to emphasize how bored you are with the game. And it’s cringe
I get having legit criticism for the game( I made a thread saying I wasn’t happy with cards being retired after x amount of time) because as much as I enjoy the game that’s something I had a hard time swallowing
But I’ve come around and I actually don’t mind building a new squad and getting their averages up like I did with my original god squad
But threads like yours are just pointless to me- like did you do everything you could do? make World Series, go flawless, become a top 1000/100/50 ranked season player? If you did and then made a thread stating that and saying you’re bored- then I get it. Because you’ve done pretty much everything the game has to offer
But you’re just bored and want people to know you’re uninstalling the game…
Lol ok? Thanks for the update
Maybe he just doesn’t care about honing his skills and making world series and being at the top of the leaderbords, some people don’t want to be competitive.
And that’s exactly why he’s bored- how much can you play the computer on rookie and still be excited about it and find fun in the game
It’s 2023- online competitive play is the crux of video gaming- for example people that buy street fighter are buying to play online against other humans- they only play the computer to unlock rewards
Compared to when we were young we would buy it and play the computer only or a friend if they were over
playing competitively you tend to want to get better at the game which is challenging but also fun and an accomplishment
If you’re just buying this game to play conquest and mini seasons then yes I can see it getting boring really quick especially if you’ve been playing it for years
The industry thought the same thing about other genres, then BOTW and Elden Ring disproved the whole "gamers just want online" [censored].
Sports studios could easily make offline/single-player content much better, but they don't. If they did, there would be an uptick of players. Just the truth.
I'll modify your statement a bit, though -- online persistent monetization modes are what companies are making. Competitive is a part of that, but not everything.

Yeah, not everyone plays video games to play other people. I can’t stand multiplayer, in any game. I’ve never bought a game with the intent to play other people, and most likely never will.
That’s fine just know you’re not the norm in2023 you’re the outlier
There’s a reason why ranked season in the most popular mode in MLBTS
Whenever sds does their streams for new game releases they always save ranked season updates for last because they know that’s what everyone cares about and it will keep them watching the while stream- if they spoke on RS in the first five minutes of the stream 90% of viewers would leave after that segment was over

Boring grinds, quantity over quality when it comes to content, etc. etc., I agree with most of the criticisms of this year's game that appear on this forum regularly.
Maybe I've just been playing the game for too long IDK, but this year's DD has just not been fun since about week 2 or 3.
I realize this isn't an airport and I don't have to announce my departure, but I'm deleting the game for at least a few weeks. Maybe I'll come back for season 3 where there will be 30 brand new unusable future starts to grind for in TA3.
Hope things get better and more interesting in future seasons, but I have a feeling '24 will be the first year since '18 that I don't buy this game.
Signed,
BearDown "Chad Brad!" GoBlue
Yeah I may get into Diablo 4 and SF 6 for a bit

Lol franchise is literally multiple times more popular than DD. So is RTTS. Diamond Dynasty is the third ranked mode as far as popularity. And not everyone is playing ranked season in Diamond dynasty. You sound like you really wanna be correct, but you just aren’t. My Team in NBA 2k is basically non existent compared to My player. So not only is it not accurate for this game it certainly isn’t for ALL SPORTS GAMES like you wanted to emphatically claim in all caps for some reason.
Btw I only play online and was bored far quicker then him, me not writing a novel didn’t make you any less of a douche queen, so it’s safe to say him voicing his opinion to SDS doesn’t effect you. You’re an idiot all on your own.

Agreed. I can flip 15M+ stubs quite effortlessly on just equipment alone. Many, many others do the same. Not possible that it's DD players accounting for that volume.

I literally just checked their youtube https://youtube.com/@SonySanDiego
“Face scans with Jazz Chisholm” has more views than “Diamond Dynasty” along with about every other video they released. Commentary, Story Lines, they all have more views than “ranked seasons” that doesn’t exist or “Diamond dynasty” that does. You sound like a clown -

No one is tuning into a twitch stream to watch someone play franchise lol
There is no yearly franchise tournament thrown by sds where thousands of people tune in to watch
There is a ranked seasons one though.
Why is diamond dynasty the most popular sub forum here?
Let me ask, what age group are you in?

In MLBTS Ranked seasons- which is competitive play- is by far the most popular mode in the game
Online modes are the most popular modes in all SPORT games
I don’t play Elden rings and I have no clue what BOTW is
Lol franchise is literally multiple times more popular than DD.
There were a lot more people watching Twitch for RTTS than DD, before SDS brought in the Ballplayer abomination.

Now you’re just not making any sense. Of course the tournament is multiplayer. How could you have a single player tournament? And just because they have a yearly tournament, it doesn’t mean that is their most popular mode. It just means they have a yearly multiplayer tournament. I’d be willing to bet some of the players in the tournament would say RS or DD isn’t their favorite mode either. But if you have a tournament with cash prizes, people will play even if it isn’t their favorite way to play.

Whenever sds does their streams for new game releases they always save ranked season updates for last because they know that’s what everyone cares about and it will keep them watching the while stream- if they spoke on RS in the first five minutes of the stream 90% of viewers would leave after that segment was over
Again this just speaks to your low IQ, they don’t do streams for “ranked season” at the end they do it for DD as a whole because a lot more goes into it than just ranked seasons lmfao.
You sound like a clownYou know nothing about streamers that play mlb the show
The most popular content creators on twitch regarding mlbts PLAY RANKED lol
I’m not having this argument with you bc it’s not even a discussion to anyone that watches and pays attention- bro looked up YouTube views lmao
I wonder why diamond dynasty is FIRST game mode listed on this forums homepage- it’s probably because it’s the least popular am I right??
You dudes make absolutely no sense lol
Again I’d like to know what age group you fall under.

Are we really extrapolating less than 1% of users to an entire game base because that's exactly what forums are... less than 1% of the fan base.
Additionally, most franchise, RTTS, rated online, etc users have absolutely no need to engage a forum to play those modes. There is no new information on a daily/weekly basis to keep up on, or frankly, whine about and gameplay issues probably impact them the least.
Market forum gets absolutely no volume either. Are you suggesting no one uses the market?
Got another strawman for us?

Why is diamond dynasty at the top of the forum section of its not the most popular
You guys have a hard time collecting data- it’s not about the 1 percent who would be streamers
But on an average the top streamers of mlb the show have 600-1000 viewers per stream… and the are playing some form of diamond dynasty- usually ranked
There’s two streamers on right in the 500-700 range of viewers
And both of those content creators play RANKED ONLY
Go check for yourself
-
Like cbrev who works for this company got “MLBTS famous” from streaming ranked seasons lol
He wasn’t streaming franchise
What are we even talking about here? Saying you guys are out the loop might be the understatement of the year

In MLBTS Ranked seasons- which is competitive play- is by far the most popular mode in the game
Online modes are the most popular modes in all SPORT games
I don’t play Elden rings and I have no clue what BOTW is
Lol franchise is literally multiple times more popular than DD. So is RTTS. Diamond Dynasty is the third ranked mode as far as popularity.
I'm curious what you are basing this on? I have no idea if its right or wrong, just honestly wondering what makes you so confident that its true?

Why so dramatic with the “I’m deleting the game for a few weeks” comment

I only play offline to grind programs and xp and I don’t feel like I want to play online lately. I was playing leagues on legend difficulty and don’t want to do so either.
I play events until I get the rewards, don’t want to touch BR because too much RNG, Ranked I can play but don’t want to sweat when I get off work. I loved the concept of great cards early and grinding for them, now I feel like it was a bad idea and SDS is regretting it. Almost all the cards from set 2 are worse than 99s and 97s from set 1.
It’s good for you to still enjoy it, I speak for myself only and the drop down in card quality has me thinking twice when I try to play.

How is there a “drop down” in card quality? IMO there’s too many cards to choose from… I’m still in love with JT, Trout, Trea, Chipper and those are all cards available pretty much day 1
I have booger, redturner, rain, slam(even though not doing great with him haha), kersh, snap dragon-set 2 cards are abundant
And there’s so many more cards I want to try(used Harper in co-op and he was cracked)- content has never been an issue for me with this game. I’m no where bored at all and if one was- then maybe they’re just over the “virtual baseball game” idea
Playing a ranked game is no way boring at all- it may be a lot of things but it isn’t boring… that much I know

Tbarnes from OS got a job at SDS from only playing franchise and never streamed
