Has anyone heard the Jordan Romano story yet?
I saved a clip where they're talking about how he never in his life used cologne and a teammate got him into using it...and then Boog is like "His 3 favorite colones are..."
Then i caught a pop foul to end the inning.
A week later, im still here like "WHAT ARE HIS 3 FAVORITE COLOGNES!!??"
Yeah, that’s so random. I can’t remember what they are called but they do have names. Maybe you need to slack a little more on defense if you wanna hear the ends of these grand tales hahaha
Ive only faced Jordan Romano once since then and i stretched that inning for at least 20 minutes...calling timeout in the box every 3 seconds and it never came up again.
Maybe i should just put him in my pen and use the hell out of him til i hear the end of this story.

I don't know if any of you know this or not, but apparently, Lucas Giolito, excuse me, Big Foot prepares for each start by playing MLB The Show vs the team/lineup he is expected to face the next day. Giolito and his high school teammate Max Fried, Maximus, began this tradition together.

Apparently Kerry Wood doesn’t exist. Clemens, Randy and Scherzer struck out 20 in a game. But not mention or Wood. Poor guy.

Man, i just love you for mentioning him. I kid you not, last night I watched that game again. That very well may have been the greatest pitching performance of all time. He did against a very tough lineup. One inning he strikes out the side swinging, another he strikes out the side looking. His fastball was electric…explosive at 98, his 12-6 looked like it had a string on it and his slider moved like a frisbee. After the game they stick the headphones on him he didn’t even have a clue what he had just done. What a great game to watch!
The game where Unit struck out 20 against the Reds is on Apple + in their wonderful “great games” section. I watched that one and his perfect game both a few weeks back(it’s on there too). One thing I had forgotten about his 20k game was that he didn’t even get the win. He left after that great performance after 9 with it a tie 1-1 and it ended a few innings later with the 4th or 5th reliever getting the W.
Thanks for the segue man! I friggin love me some great pitching don’t y’all

This game is full of bugs. SDS is super sloppy especially with this years game.
It is full of way to many faulty development errors.
So careless with their product. SDS out did themselves.
This game is vomit.

Degrom hit a homerun on Sale and the karaoke machine get repeated a lot as well. I like some of the commentary and think they added a more personal touch this season. With that said, the guys recording this stuff, don't come up with it on their own. They are told what to say, so there is no reason to get mad at them.
Also, the only one that bothers me, is a recent one from the last update. They keep talking about how poorly the outfielder got the ball in, even though they were perfect throws, hit the cut-off, etc.

Dude, that’s actually what inspired me to write this thread among all these other great examples. So it’s new. I’ve noticed it’s every single time I knock in a run it’s either a wild throw back in or a careless throw back in and 9/10 times it’s a perfectly fine throw. So odd.
Also, we are stoked about all the great players from Venezuela including the one who “ended his career with 3,000 hits” etc. He hasn’t ended with anything. He’s still playing!!!
Oh and on a sharp line drive “watch your lips.” Sense when is that what I’m worried about on a hot shot?

I keep hoping that my guys can dive like the the common computer guys. When you dive and are nowhere near the ball Boog says something like, "What just happened, did he fall? Sniper?" Then, of course, Singleton ruins it by saying, "trying his hardest," or something like that.
I'm also tired of hearing, "He dives, and catches it." and all of the other derivations of that.
Is there anyway we could get Boog and Plesac to do it together?

You can Google it and there is a New York Times article about it. I feel like that would ruin the thrill of hearing it.
We hear the stories so many times because we play too much baseball. -

I know the middle one is "break a lossing streak" and at the end Singleton says "looks like he's got all his bases covered"

They say something at the beginning of the mini seasons game in New Orleans. It is something like, "Good News. They found...." Does anyone know what is being said?

Apparently every pitchers slider is just filthy man.

Something about a Cake Baby. I think it has something to do with the statue of flowers in the center field stands.
-
I thought he says "cake baby," but that seemed too ridiculous.
I went ahead and looked it up. It seems to be a New Orleans thing.
"The modern tradition states that anyone who is served a slice of king cake and gets the baby in their serving is the “lucky” king for a day, and therefore must buy the king cake for next year's Mardi Gras celebration." -

It should be noted that, while getting the baby is a positive experience during marti gras, it is by far NOT the best thing to experience during said holiday.
Nay, friends, if you wanna have real fun you need beads….lots and lots of BEADSedit: and no, I’m not speaking about THAT type of beads…that’s just gross, self.

The foul ball one. Where they ask if he ever caught a foul ball as a fan, he said no not as a fan only a broadcaster. Hear this one all the time.
