Sorry, But Clutch Needs to Be Tweaked...
-
I'm fine with having a Clutch rating so there is a change in the Contact rating with RISP.
But it can't just be ONE rating. That's silly.
You have Con R & L...you have Pow R & L.
So...why is there no Clutch R & L??
The current way of doing things makes R-R and L-L matchups with RISP irrelevant.
The only thing that matters is the "Clutch" rating of a Hitter and the PCLT rating of the Pitcher?
That makes literally ZERO SENSE.

I agree, if they want to make clutch a factor they should have averaged it out with the contact ratings instead of just completely replacing it.

Ask Willie Mays how he feels about Clutch Rating.

then we can also play things like h/9 vs lefties and righties which I think was in the game years and years ago before DD (think your specialists or former specialists) at some point it needs to stop. Do I think it is perfect? No not at all but after SDS made such a drastic change I doubt they'll walk back on it so quickly until we get some real broken players with extremely low contact and sky high clutch
-
Ultimately I think clutch should only be a positive bump. I have no idea what metric they are using to determine clutch but it just seems arbitrary. A guy like David Ortiz had a reputation for being clutch so I can see boosting him way up but for most players the clutch should probably be similar to the contact. I have no idea why they decided willie mays all of sudden stinks when a guy hits second base.

Why you sorry OP? Good points.
SDS needs to make adjustments to this, as well as other new features that are not working out well.
Simple as that. Hopefully they listen. -

Ask Willie Mays how he feels about Clutch Rating.
Use the captain Willie Mays if his clutch matters so much.
