How does.vision work?

Increases pci size I believe. There’s some sort of correlation with a pitcher’s h/9. Like a high h/9 reduces the size of the batters pci.
I use directional so what does it.do.for.me

Higher vision might let you fall off more pitches that are further away from the middle of the zone.

Vision applies to pci size, and the absurdity that is the "outer pci".
Think of it as a magical aura that allows you to hit pitches that you don't actually hit.
Another analogy is the old wiffle ball red "fat bat". If you have a card with high vision, he's using the red "fat bat".
If vision is low, you're using the standard yellow skinny bat..
125 vision is like using a double red fat bat, so if you use contact swing you can foul off curves in the dirt, pickoff throws, and beach balls in the stands. -
Vision also affects the timing windows
-
I thought contact was what youre saying vision is. Then what's contact?
-
Vision only affects outer pci and If I’m not mistaken timing windows.
-
Vision definitely impacts timing windows and the difference can be drastic.

Contact is the inner pci. Which is more like the actual bat instead of magical ghost bat that let's you foul off pitches, like someone mentioned previously

None of this makes sense.. I don't have a pci on my screen

Then you must be using directional hitting and you don't have a pci
-
Using zone hitting, you move the PCI around in an attempt to make perfect contact with the ball. With directional hitting, you hand that part of the process over to the CPU, and its ability to do so is based on the vision rating. Higher vision makes the CPU better at placing its PCI center on the sweet spot.
-
Vision actually seems to be MORE important to anyone using Directional hitting.

Really, never knew that. Where can I find this info at since I'm sure there are many things I have no clue about in this game. Thanks.

Vision is outer PCI and higher vision increases the likelihood that you'll foul off a pitch instead of swinging and missing. It's countered by K/9.
Contact is inner PCI and is countered by Hits/9.
Supposedly the size of the outer PCI was nerfed this year to avoid foul ball madness. I notice a very small difference.

There's a handbook that explains everything on one of the tabs on your team page, where the roster update is. Somewhere there.
If you're playing offline (franchise, MTO), it's also in the pause menu.
Lots to read.

And for those who don't already know, new this year is that CLUTCH replaces CONTACT when there's a runner on 2nd and/or 3rd. When you D-pad right you'll see this.
It's not on the attribute wheel, which is immensely stupid on SDS's part.

Except for WBC Lindor…you can throw the pitch in the stands and he’ll foul it off.

The way they did Clutch is pretty DUMB.
You can’t have one number for Clutch…should have Clutch rating Vs R and L.
The new Clutch stat made Righty-Righty and Lefty-Lefty matchups with RISP effectively worthless.
I get it…Freddie Freeman is clutch. But the side the pitcher is throwing from should matter.
Now it goes out the window. And all that matters is the Clutch rating. That makes ZERO sense.
