I don’t like the move, but let’s not act like it’s some conspiracy against “casuals.”
Their motivation is to make money by selling stubs. All these changes have been geared toward that. Every company’s goal to make money. It’s not evil. It’s not personal. It’s capitalism.

Ranked was like that when it dropped. However they are breaking up the season into two parts. First part of the season has non sellable packs, in the WS Program, and then when the start the second part of this season; those packs will be sellable.
When the new BR program dropped today; they made the pack you get at 100pts ( which is the Flawless pack for those that can't go 12-0) non sellable.
So, the only way you can sell a flawless card is if you earn it while going 12-0.

They’ve definitely found a way to deter casual online players from playing online. Maybe that was the goal. I came into the season truly planning on playing online more but that is no longer the case.
I second this. I now have no reason to play BR. So it's only going to be offline for me right now until some of these rewards are Core players.
I would like to add this though. If this is because of streamers griping that the rewards lose less value:

It's not like they're using their own money to buy stuff. They probably get paid to produce streams.

If SDS is worried about people earning a lot of stubs; then they shouldn't allow people to sit on a 11-0 run until the new BR season starts. If you're in an 11-0 run and you don't play your next game until the new season drops; tough luck. You start out 1-0.

I have no intention of touching ranked because of this change, now I just might not touch BR either. BR program requirements should be lowered by 75% if it's going to be no sell. The changes to drive people to buy stubs and cater to 1% like these no-sell packs are really souring me on this game.

Well that's enough for me. Finish this year and call it a day. Every year they have cut ways to make stubs. Shat on my favorite player two years running (Mays) and put Godzilla in the game. How much more stupid can it get. I'm old anyway and should be done playing video games.

My issue with BR is it has been fine this way for three years. I do think RS might have been a touch easy for first season, but they made the time requirement significantly higher and made them no sell. I think they could have made either adjustment mid year and it wouldn’t have been too big of a deal. However, getting 100 points in BR has always seem to fit the reward well. Again this is the third year it has been this way and has never been an issue until now.
I was going to come here and make this point. Previously they've just adjusted the requirements. I actually like the no sell rewind packs too. But I saw the no sell on ranked season and BR and I was excited to grind both fast to make stubs to buy other cards or finish live series. Now I'm not sure I even want to play anymore. I like buying and selling cards to test players out. SDS is gradually turning more and more into EA.

While I don't love the idea of no sell rewards for online play, it baffles me why you would make the programs so much more difficult, especially as the ranked season now lasts half the time it did for the first program. 25 hours of ranked play for a single non-sale card??? And why remove the points for wins, as well. Pretty bizarre.

Not getting the point for a win in RS has baffled me as much as anything. There is just something about earning that point for a win that means more to me than any pxp mission or number of total bases. It especially has value when your opponent quits in the second inning.

My thoughts for ranked with coop and the program was like ah bummer but also like ok majority of people can get the cards. I didn’t know BR was also non sellable which is so so so crappy. Sad day

I’m shocked they did this mid year. This seems like a pretty massive adjustment to make for the casual gamer who just enjoyed grinding the program and earn some stubs. this latest move on BR and the most recent roster update is absolutely brutal.

It's cut in half because there will be two parts to the season. Part 2, I was told, would have sellable rewards.

I mean, life is hard when he gets the card immediately and sells it for 500k, it's just not fair that casual players can earn the card weeks later and sell it for 50k
These kids are freaking clowns, can't wait to see how angry he is when every game of a 12-0 BR run is a sweatfest when offline players aren't willing to drop 50k in runs that end in 3 or 4 games and just drop the game. Same with Ranked. -

Same with Ranked.Bro it’s worse than that. A BR game takes like half an hour tops. So 12-0 takes 6 hours. Now granted there’s a lot of skill involved. But they cry that their card should sell for a million so it’s worth it. But then someone says man if you grind through all of TA, all the xp path, all the RS program and the Kaiju program it takes like 50 hours and get you like 300k if you’re lucky and they respond that you just want something for nothing. These the type of dudes sds and sports gaming companies listen to all the way to the bottom of the barrel lol.

I’ve been playing year round for the past few versions. In recent years I’ve been buying the $100 version to support SDS the independent company because all things considered they make a great product and don’t force you to spend money to be competitive. I have Gamepass so I could most definitely get it for free. However, with this recent change to rewards being no-sells I see the unfortunate direction it’s heading. My desire to play has disappeared suddenly and I’m not sure how long this feeling will last. I hope they reverse this decision and realize it goes against their “grind 99” prerogative. RIP to BR and RS as there is no incentive for me to play anymore.

Two things can be true at the same time. They find ways to make more $, of course, but they've also massively "democratized" DD so that casuals can get almost all the same cards by grinding.
Your last sentence might be it. At 49, I often feel the same way...
