Yes, I know about the Wild Card. What I meant is from what I've read is you can still use 'expired' cards, in certain offline modes, but you won't earn and PXP with them. Is that just for 'active' programs or all programs?
Meaning if I want to use the 97 Rivera after Set 2 is 'over', which I think is when Set 4 comes out, does that mean if he is my Closer, I can no longer earn any PXP with him that goes towards a program?
Depends on the program... with Rivera being Set 2, if you are still doing TA2 or TA3 his PXP will count for the Yankees (as well as himself if he has a mission that you haven't completed and/or if the mission is repeatable).

Yeah. I kinda jumped the gun on this. Barely rarely do I play Ranked. And I assume that will be the only H2H mode, minus a set specific Event, where I can use him.
Plus, I like my pitchers to have a 5 pitch mix and his Core card is only 4.

5 pitch relievers are rare.
