I started out like 38-7. Now im 45-17. Ive gone 7-10 in last 17 games i think. When i win, i barely win. When i lose, i get blown out. No matter what i pitch and or what corner the pitch is, they crush it. It wasnt like this before. Im only in my 3rd total season playing(xbox) so im basically still a rookie, veteran at best. These guys show up and its almost like they are legendary bots. I use the Dodgers. Am i being placed into a tougher bracket or something?

3rd season playing is not a rookie or veteran, but yes the more you win the higher your rating is, the higher competition you get

I changed into a whole different level of play. Every pitch is hit. Many many of the balls i throw, rub the line of the outer part of the strike box all around it and these players wont swing. I mean close close pitches.

Im not above veteran for sure. I cant hit for shiaaaate.

Especially using the Dodgers you’ll see higher rated guys +team rating jumps up and again depending on what pitchers you’re using

Can you explain this? Im not sure i follow. I use Kershaw down to synderguard(sp) and i cant stop anyone using Kershaw or Urias lately or Gons or May for that matter. Its weird.

In this instance yes. Using a team like LAD & pitcher like Kershaw can add another ~150 SR to your skill rating when you search. So if you are 1800 SR, you are probably getting matched with more 2000+ SR players than 1500 SR. Pitchers also matter— usually #5 pitchers dont add SR while an ace can add ~100 depending on the team.

You'll have to use a low rated team (COL, OAK, DET) to find a more even opponent if you have high SR & play on rookie. Or hold your left stick all the way to the left so your opponent search doesn't expand past the initial ratings.

I've found my opponents in rookie more challenging than veteran and all-star this year, lol. I think alot of skilled players SR mine/ don't care to play above rookie— increasing the difficulty.

I'm only 1700 but I've had a much better time using high rated teams on Veteran as opposed to Rookie.

Hmmmm. Good explanation. Lot to think about. The last 2 seasons using the Dodgers only , i had my down games but it seems this season like i said im getting pummeled like a whole new level of play ive never seen and have to adjust to. I even get shiaate talked about how terrible i am lol. I dont crossplay for the record. I play only against other xbox players. Many more players have evolved i guess over the past 3 seasons. I see it in the level of play this year.

Any hitting tips would be appreciated. I use pci on strikezone 2/3. Sometimes, I'll use strike zone also. It all depends on how i am able to read the pitch.

The most common trends in my wins were taking alot of pitches & recognizing where the opponent throws. The Last 40 pitches menu has been helpful point out where they like to spam pitches. Sitting on pitches middle-in have been largely rewarding.

Pitching-wise— be unpredicatble, throw everywhere in and out the zone. Keep the offspeed stuff low and heaters high.

Like others said, the more you win (and play in general) the higher your rating gets, couple that with the team you’re using and you’ll start getting matchup with higher opponents. Also depends on your game settings too.

Also depends on what time of day you’re playing. My level + the time of day I play my match making meter usually goes all the way to the max which leaves a ton of room for really great players or really bad players to jump in a game with me and since they refuse to let us know or see who we’re playing before the match starts you could just be getting better players in your lobby.

Not to mention if cross play on/off

I just played another rated game. I give up 9 hits, get 9k's, gove up 2 homeruns for 4 total runs. My hitting , i get 10 hits, 2 runs only k, 2 times. Crushed the ball all over the place, but yet they go right at people and didn't score the 2 runs till the bottom of the 9th. Wtf is happening here, normally when only k 2 times i score 10 runs....i lose 4 to 2 to what i felt was an inferior player. I cant understand why a game goes this way.

I play hof bat legend pitch. At least go all star all star.

Go to the practice mode and learn how to hit on higher difficulty. You will have much more realistic games.

I actually play mostly online rated because the games are less sweaty and tend to be more realistic. I started doing this when I got all the way to world series in DD and it became unfun. Legend is too fast for me, my skill level ain't that high. Online rated for me is casual, while DD is competitive. Realize as you ascend the rankings, competition gets much better. Anyone with a perfect record after 30-40 wins is probably cheating
