Can’t see cards in my inventory — what am I doing wrong?

I just noticed that I still need 9 more K’s with the captain SP ohtani, but that card isn’t appearing in my inventory when I try to add him to my squad. I see the card in my collection when I go to “my inventory” and hit R2 to see the legends and flashbacks. And, like I say, I’ve already used him and I have 3 K’s with him. What am I doing wrong? I know I’m probably overlooking something stupid.

You must have another Ohtani on your roster somewhere. Take the other Ohtani out and replace him with any other card. Then your Captain Ohtani should appear in the lineup screen.
Unlike in the past games, you can't swap different variations of a player 1:1. They have to be off the team in order to see all the possible versions.

One other thing... are you talking about your "main" roster? I know you're probably not doing this, but for things like "Lefty Loosey" Mini-Season, he won't show up. I tried to use a bunch of non-TA cards when doing the TA mini-season, and lots of cards weren't showing up... because they weren't TA-related. Took me way too long to figure that out.
EDIT... or @PennStateFencer already knew...
