This may be an unpopular opinion but I actually enjoy the captains. I play exclusively offline though so I can see the online players argument because no bronze would ever be worth it in that format. But, for grinding TA I actually enjoyed using a full royals squad which I absolutely never thought I’d say…

Don't get me wrong, I enjoy them. And I'll even use them Online, despite being at a disadvantage. But that does get old after awhile.

I used the Rockies and Royals hitters. Some aren't bad with the boost to Contact. But I still had to slap the ball around and hope my opponent wasn't a good hitter, because I wasn't going to hit any bombs with the Royals.

Rockies had one or two Power threats, but in your average game of Ranked seasons, that means I probably have 7 LESS long ball threats then my opponent with 7 WBC cards and 2 Charisma.

I really like the idea of the captains, but like others have said, the boosts just aren’t worth it for the few players it’ll actually help. No offense, but +20 power vs. L and R for a guy with a base 35 power isn’t worth it.

Also, I’ve found that a lot of the team captains boost the worst side of the ball. Basically, if the live captain gives a boost to the pitchers, the pitchers on the live squad are practically trash even with the boost. Vice verse about a hitting live captain.

That said, if they ran some events that required live team sets, they’d get used a lot more.

I think, SDS should do some drastic stuff with the captains, otherwise a great idea is off to the trash bin …
    My suggestions:

    • Give every captain at least a 95 (increase attributes)
    • Make the rewards better. E.g. the nationals boost is pretty awesome, but the players are awful, so the boost still makes the Nationals not good
    • Inrease more attributes. E.g. Judge is such a bad fielder, he should boost himself much better
