I’m so foolish…

From MLBTS 16-22, I’ve preordered asap. But ‘22 was so horrible for me (some of y’all like it and that’s fine) I wasn’t going to get ‘23.
Then they added Negro League players and I was drawn back in. I still almost didn’t get it because ‘22 was nothing but strikeouts. For me and my opponent. I have a 160-97 RS record, and most games played on HoF. I win more than I lose, and I am terrible. Which makes me believe the majority of players are terrible.
Swings that are just off from perfect timing and/or just an eyelash from perfect PCI and it’s an out. That happens way too often for P/P’s to be outs, too! In my opinion, these things made ‘22 an awful game. I called ‘22 the “Dead Ball Edition.”
Anyway, I foolishly preordered the $99 version yesterday. Jumped on ‘22 to get ready for launch in a few days and had another miserable experience. Game on AS against a guy with a record similar to mine and we combined for 9 hits and 3 runs.
I should have my head examined for buying ‘23…
I’m just ranting, y’all. Last rant until mid-April, I’d imagine. Haha.

A combined 9 hits/3 runs sounds like a competitive game though. Are you expecting 15-12 games every time out? Thats not very realistic.
-
It was competitive, but boring and frustrating. I took a lot of pitches; worked counts. Would get a couple guys on and then hook a ball just outside the foul pole for being a hair early on an inside 102mph fastball. Happened a couple of times. Timing windows are just not good.
And no, 15 runs is not what I’m looking for. But 8-10 combined for a video game would be a lot more fun than the frequent 2-1 games I experience.
It just feels like skills matter, but not all the time. Attributes of the players matter, but not all time. There seems to be a forced realism in this game, and I don’t think I like it. Know what I mean?
In some games, those just early swings I had would have been three run bombs, even though I was early. This time they went foul. So there isn’t consistency with inputs, and the community just shrugs and says, “That’s baseball!”
So it seems like the game forces the 2-1 game, and the 15-12game, despite the inputs of the users and the attributes of the players being used were the same in both games.
I guess I just haven’t accepted that yet.

Yeah, same Maurice, Hungry! You’re smarter than me for staying away! I just had to give Satchel Paige a try, though. I doubt I’ll play anywhere close to 250 ranked games in ‘23, though. I hope all is well with you, too, buddy.
