But wouldn't this be one of the times to buy packs when all the cards are inflated? LS Golds for 5K and up. Diamonds probably 10k and up. Silvers probably 1-2K?
I tend to have horrible pack luck. I'll open my free packs from the DD and drops....then i'll put my team together and grind the program. By the time im a few days in, i'll have a good idea as to where the market is heading and i'll take the accumulated stubs to try and finish off as many teams as i can in that first week. I wont bother buying packs though because there are so many ways to get them free now anyway.

Opening night is actually the only time in the game cycle when buying packs is actually profitable because of the inflated prices. Yet, highly volatile. You may put $100 in packs and get nada.

You are right, LS golds are not capped at 5K. I checked that with Mullins, who was a high and hyped gold at launch. In the first 2 days he ranged between 5-7K, after that always lower than 5K. So it is possible to pull high golds that go awesome, but it is in the early access phase.
Back to „Is it smart to buy packs?“. Imo:- If you want excitement, than buying packs is a good thing in the early release days
- From an investment standpoint it is the same as playing lottery. In the long run, most of people are losing money(stubs)

Dont be mad if you dont get all the said Twitch packs. I cannot tell you how many packs I have claimed and not got. Twitch will show them as claimed, I will be all linked up, but the number will be totally different.

exactly mate - my strategy each year is to sell ALL cards - flip all day - first week you can make serious stubs - i made 100K in 1 day flipping on Day 1 i believe in 2021

I usually use that plus $100 to open packs. I don't recommend that to anyone though. It's a waste, its just to me the first week is the only time opening packs is fun
